This change was an experimental fix for a bug someone reported -- but it turned out not to be safe. Sorry, I had to revert it. PM me, and we might be able to find some other way to help you do this.

• Farming level now affects crop yield prior to level 10
• Many translation fixes in every language

Which part of the translation do you think is wrong, and why?

In achievements there is following for different Friendship Levels:
- "Erreiche die 5-Herzen-Freundesstufe mit jemandem" - Sounds a bit weird, writing is correct, but no german would say it so

Objects and Buildings:
- Shelter is translated to "Hütte" - Hütte has another meaning.
- Bee House is translated to "Bienenhaus" - A "Bienenhaus" is a big shelter with multiple swarms in it
- Void-Chicken is translated to "Void-Huhn" - Its very complicated here.
- Bream is translated to "Brachse" - No german say it so

How do you think it should be fixed, and why?

- "Erreiche die 5-Herzen-Freundesstufe mit jemandem" should be "Freunde dich mit jemandem an, bis die Zuneigung 5 Herzen erreicht" - Sounds better and more casual, please in all "Heart Achievments"
- "Hütte" should be "Schuppen" - Hütte is a small cabin, where you can barely live in. Schuppen is the right word for it.
- "Bienenhaus" should be "Bienenstock" - A "Bienenhaus" is a big shelter with multiple swarms in it. Bienenstock is the right translation here.
- "Void-Huhn" should be "Leerenhuhn" - Here it becomes complicated and a bit religious... Void means "Leere" and i think in most religions its the complete empty part between life and dead. I think "Leerenhuhn" would explain this chicken very good and fits better in the lore of Stardew Valley. Please check "Void-Egg" too, did not found one yet, should be "Leerenei" then.
- "Brachse" should be "Brasse" - Brachse correct name of "Abramis brama" but no german fisher (i am one) say Brachse. Brasse is the most common used word in german and comes from Low- and Mid-German languages, where most fishers come from.

Which part of the translation do you think is wrong, and why?



In the "Character Creation" labels are not displayed correctly:

1. The inscription "name" - moved to the left and is not exactly in line with the words "farm name" and "favorite thing"
   
2. The inscription "farm name" - overlaps the input of the name
   
3. The inscription "My favorite thing" - is covered by the shadow of input name favorite things
   
4. The inscription "Preferred animals" - the inscription completely covers the cat icon (also due to the fact that the animal is in fact one is given and does not change, more correctly be translated as "Preferred animal" that is, in the singular)
   
5. The inscription "Shirt" - the first letters climbed on the selection arrow "left"
   
6. The inscription "The color of the pants" - the last letter goes under the strip select "Saturation"

How do you think it should be fixed, and why?

1. Move the label slightly to the right to align exactly in line with the words "farm name" and "favorite thing"
   
2. Move the label slightly to the left a few pixels (space available)
3. Move the label slightly to the left a few pixels
   
4. Move the label slightly to the left and down a few pixels, but it is better to shift icons "cat" and "dog" to the right, will look more right.
   
5. No options for how to do it correctly
   
6. Probably it is necessary change the translation from "The Color of pants" to "pants Color" characters less the value of a similar

Какую часть перевода вы считаете неправильной и почему?

В меню "Создание персонажа" надписи отображаются не корректно:

1. Надпись "Имя" - сдвинулась влево и стоит не ровно в ряд с надписями "Название фермы" и "Любимая вещь"
2. Надпись "Название фермы" - перекрывается прямоугольником ввода самого названия
3. Надпись "Любимая вещь" - перекрывается тенью прямоугольника ввода названия любимой вещи
   
4. Надпись "Предпочитаемые животные" - надпись полностью перекрывает иконку кота (так же из-за того, что животное по факту даётся одно и не меняется, более корректно будет перевести как "Предпочитаемое животное" то есть в единственном числе)
5. Надпись "Рубашка" - первыми буквами залезла на стрелку выбора "влево"
6. Надпись "Цвет штанов" - последней буквой уходит под полоску выбора "насыщенность"

Как вы думаете это должно быть исправлено и почему?

1. Подвинуть надпись немного вправо, чтобы выровнять ровно в ряд с надписями "Название фермы" и "Любимая вещь"
2. Подвинуть надпись немного влево на несколько пикселей (свободное пространство есть)
3. Подвинуть надпись немного влево на несколько пикселей
   
4. Подвинуть надпись немного влево и вниз на несколько пикселей, но лучше сместить иконки "кот" и "собака" правее, будет смотреться правильно.
5. Нет вариантов как сделать это правильно
6. Возможно стоит изменить перевод с "Цвет штанов" на "Цвет брюк" символов меньше, значение аналогичное

 

void ist ein schwieriges wort wenn man es hier sinngemäß übersetzen will. es bezeichnet zwar "die Leere", aber leerenhuhn etc. klingt einfach nur dämlich.
vllt könnte man es besser durch ein anderes wort ersetzen wie z.b. "Schatten". es ist zwar dann nicht mehr 100% sinngemäß übersetzt, würde aber wesentlich besser klingen. und da alle "void" wörter einen dunklen gegenstand oder kreatur bezeichnen, würde "Schatten auch ganz gut dazu passen.
folglich könnte man dann alles so nennen:

Schatten Huhn
Schatten Ei
Schatten Mayonnaise
Schatten Geist oder Schatten Kreatur
Schatten Lachs
Schatten Essenz

klingt jedenfalls besser.

For #5, you could just move the Arrow buttons down a bit, so that they are instead next to the number that is being changed. Would probably be a good idea for all the languages, not just Russian.

 

Void has multiple meanings and lots of more interpretations in german...
If you are exact, Void Chicken means simply "Kein Huhn" - in english "No Chicken".... so in fact: To be or not to be... so let's call it the Shakespeare Chicken /jokemode off
I think in this part we need the help of Eric Barone himself to tell us about his intention to create this chicken to make the right translation.

Schatten is a cool translation, would prefer it to my suggestion

 

I dunno if I can clear this up myself, but the "Void Chicken" comes from a random event that happens where the witch flies over your coop and leaves a void egg. Which I would guess is an egg that she cursed, maybe? So maybe it could be translated as a "Cursed Chicken"? I don't know for sure. Probably best to do what Trekkerfahrer suggested, and talk to Eric about it, to see how it can be properly translated, since there is very little lore on the void chicken in the first place. How it came to be would be a nice bit of info.

 

I think the "Schatten" translation is just fine, all the literal translations just don't work. "Schatten" has all the right connotations of darkness, emptiness, the supernatural etc. "Cursed chicken" would make it sound pretty negative, don't know if that's good. Sure, it would be cool to get some info from Eric, but I guess the "void chicken" problem is not exactly top priority

 

well, i would say it was at least somewhat of a priority, since a proper translation is probably one of their highest concerns. And I'd agree, "Schatten" would work well for it.

Looking at the green bottle in the witch's hut.
"Du öffnest die Flasche und lässt den Geruch in deine Nüstern wehen. [...]"
"Nüstern" is called the nose of a horse.

How do you think it should be fixed, and why?
instead of "Nüstern": "Nase" or "Nasenlöcher"

 

Just passing by to say thanks and congratulations! I got SV right on launch and loved it! And now I'm back playing to test the pt-br beta translation so my wife can play it too! =D

on a side note, I noticed that the cursor is vanishing when there's a popup to choose something on dialogue and stuff... is this a known bug?

• Translation fixes
• Improved text on main menu buttons for German, Spanish and Portuguese
• Fixed event skip button not being clickable (if you've zoomed in/out far enough)

Known, but we'd like more information if possible. Which popups does this occur on?

 

We opted to use "Ort" as often as possible. It is less specific. Pelican Town is, of course, just a village in size, but with all the stores (and the Joja Mart), it would be a pretty weird village. So "Ort" was the most appropriate for most situations, we thought.

 

I hope that you will add translation fixes to the Russian language, because i did not found any word fixes from our feedback. =(

 

Neither do I for Portuguese

They're still working on fixes, and are going to be for a few more weeks yet.
