Moving Worlds/Characters to Another Computer

My computer breaks a lot, and I would rather not lose all my progress, so is it possible to save a world or character onto a flash drive, then upload it to another computer, or will that not work? Also, what problems could transferring saves cause?

I guess there will be no problem with the save game as long as it is not corrupted. It will be fine. Just make sure you copy it properly.
