[Mount] Giant Worms

Basically giant ride-able worms that come in several styles.



I know the pictures are crude but basically all worms can tunnel (except the slime one) and for lava and ice ones you need protective equipment to ride but they can attack (enemies pass through slime). Lava worms even glow but are incredibly rare. Slime worms are the most common but are quite fast and hard to control.

Giant worms should be uncommon and the ice and lava worms should only be found in their respective climates (Ice planets and volcanoes respectively).

I'm not sure about needing the special equipment to ride them, unless it was sort of like... the special underwear that lets you ride the frost worm also lets you ride all other frost-themed mounts?

I like the idea of having mounts that can drill or attack-- but I think they would have to be quite limited so that they aren't exploited.

I really like your idea, and I think you should polish it up a bit! It'll take guess-work out of implementation if they consider it!

 

Really good idea for a mount. Maybe worms can climb walls as well

 

Tunneling mounts would be awesome! It's an excellent way to vary transportation. I like it.

 

If these are to be tunnelling mounts, when ridden all ores/valuables found underground should be changed to the dirt texture to prevent cheating. Also people should only be able to dismount above a certain level (Say ground level, 0).

 

That's a good idea. It would be far too easy to mine with a worm lol. Also it would put a nice cost onto the new way to get around.

 

In the latest screenshot, down the bottom right there is a worm creature, possibly that could become the mount. They should only be able to dig the planets equivelant of dirt, or at most stone.

 

I think that is just a creature, we have no indication that it would be a mount.
The idea of the worm mount (if it even makes it in to the game) only being able to dig the equivalent of dirt or stone is good, I think it should be slower in stone also.

 

I'm not saying that is the mount, I'm saying it could be if this idea is accepted into the game, and being slower whilst chomping dat stone is a good idea also.
