Generally, that would be the idea. Since Apex are the cloest thing to 'Furries' In the current races. Furries being Anthropomorphic animals. Although some would dispute that Monkeys' cannot be furries due to certain factors.

No... But they have ideas on what a 'furry' really is, like... A furry is an anthropomorphic animal, and since a monkey, is already so close to being human... You can't really call it a furry, because its already Anthropomorphic.

 

I see the appeal of Floran's, but I love the Avians. Especially when I can look like a macaroni penguin.

Didn't pick because the racial bonuses to armors aren't implemented yet. When they are, then I'll decide.

 

Speaking as someone with some experience with that demographic, I can tell you apes aren't exactly popular. There's a reason wolves, cats and "my little pony" were among the first anthropomorphic races added via modding.

The few i know who play Starbound are all rolling avian.

That definitely wasn't clear. Because you asked about most popular race. Except, instead of asking what people played, you asked what people though other people played. Except, instead of asking what people thought other people played, you asked what other people perceived other people as playing. That's at least two degrees from making any-god-damned-sense.

Avians are my favorite race beyond everything. Florans are also such a fascinating and beautiful race.
The apex just remind me of planet of the apes.

 

Yeah I hit floran cause either there was a clarification in the first post, but it stated "Not personal Opinion by which is your favorite" and noticed Floran speech (Anyone else notice anything with a Hiss ends up getting the most typed accent? Weird right?) in lots of posts on the forum.

I see glitch much more often than anything else, except for maybe florans.

 

Florans have the cutest hair and color options, IMHO. Their armor is also really cute. That may explain their popularity.

Personally, I love the Florans and the Apex but most of my friends seem to be playing as humans.
