More than one tech?

I noticed that I could equip more than one tech, but could only use one at a time. I didn't notice until today that I could switch between them by clicking on them in my inventory menu. I had assumed I just had to unlock the ability to use more or something.

So I found it a little disappointing it seems that you can only use one at a time. I was hoping I'd be able to combine my double jump with my dashing ability. That was one really fun thing about Terraria, being able to combine your accessories and stuff.

I think we should be able to use them simultaneously, so long as they don't conflict with each other.... unless you CAN and my game just glitched. There should at least be an upgrade for it at some point, unless there is already and I'm just not aware of it.

 

The ability to change between them without having to open the inventory would be nice.

I was chuffed that I managed to find both Energy Dash and Pulse Jump without looking in the Coords threads, but when I equipped them both I thought I had run into a bug; My double jump was simply not working. Only after reading the wiki a few times did I figure out that I had to select the techs individually in the inventory screen.

Surely this is a bug, right? I mean its not intuitive at all, and it is honestly annoying to me that I have to constantly open my inventory to switch them- usually in situations where I can't stand still and twat around with menus unless I want to die.

I hope this gets changed to allow all techs when equipped to be used at all times. No selecting required.

 

As it stands, without the ability to use both at the same time, I'm always using Pulse Jump and I don't think I'll ever switch to anything else. I love my double jump too much and, while seeing the other techs is pretty cool, I rely too heavily on my ability to jump twice that if I gave it up I would only get myself killed.

I still haven't found any tech yet, but I'm hoping that this is either some sort of bug or something that will be changed. With the energy system in place, it shouldn't be that hard to make sure that using multiple techs at the same time isn't overpowered.

 

I never use pulse jump unless I run out of platforms to reach something that is too high. Dash can be spammed which makes falling ez-mode and running a round the map takes a third of the time.

 

I'm sure at some point we will be able to use a few of them at the same time, think they are more concentrating on getting the bugs fixed and getting the combat balanced (or as balanced as it can get). Still a long way to go before the game will be at it's final stages!

 

This is... disappointing. Why can't we use more than 1 tech at once...? I want to use pulse jump and energy dash. I guess I'll use dash for the overworld and switch to pulse jump when i'm going mining way under.
