It was great that Chucklefish added a loading screen in the first place, since you could never tell whether it was loading slowly or had just crashed. However, I'd like to see a bit more info on the loading screen. You know, just stuff like "Loading Textures...", "Loading models...", "Loading giant penguin space-ships..." etc. It doesn't even have to be serious, just some kind of change on the loading screen occasionally that tells you the game hasn't crashed. Stuff like "Matrix implementation turning on", "Tessellating nanobots", "Building stars from the magma up", "Watching some TV for a while" etc.
Does it really load that slow for you that you would need something like that? Last time I saw a feature like that was on one of the sims games which had quite a longer load time than starbound afaik.
It's taken over 5 minutes for me before, I'm not really sure why. And it doesn't do that every time, but sometimes it does. I'm pretty sure Sims has the feature of showing what it's loading, or having a progress bar or something. It's kind of a standard in most games, and programs in general. I don't see why it shouldn't be in Starbound.
Starbound takes a while to load for me as well, so I too would like to see some sort of animation or something to tell me it hasn't frozen. A progress bar would be nice.
