More contests?

does anyone know when there are going to be more contests like the monster monster one?

 

They haven't said anything about more contests, but if they need to make another contest, they will.

 

I hope that some more contests arise, not just for the prizes/recognition, but to see more of the surprisingly talented members we have strut their stuff.

 

Hope to be able to take part in some contest and win free starbound copy. Or else I will suffer until it gets 75% discount on Steam.

 

I love the contests, really hope they do some more.

 

If they do another contest, I hope it's something other than art.
So people who aren't good at art, but good at something else can also get a chance.

 

Unfortunately, if you make a video game, you need only 3 big categories of things: art, concepts and programming. A contest of programming is impossible since the devs certainly won't share their already done work, which makes programming for Starbound impossible. Concepts? They have pages of concepts in the Suggestions section, nor to mention their own ideas...

So pretty much only art remains. It could be drawing or writing, though. Possibly even music.

 

I forgot about the other forms of "art"; but I was talking about something other than the drawing, painting, digital art.

 

I hope so, i'd like to see different contests such as:

1) Starbound related food (cake, cupcakes, etc)
2) Most outrageous scenic background while holding a Starbound sign (bungee jumping, skydiving, etc)
3) Cosplay
4) Sculpted creations (clay, Legos, etc)

 

Maybe they should get people to do some voices

 

I have a feeling there will be more contests, I just have no idea when this will (could) happen.

That would be awesome, if the characters were voiced!

 

It would be! How would they do a contest with that though? I guess they would have a script and who ever reads it best?

 

If there absolutely MUST be a new contest, I think the only good contest possible would be a weapon design contest. Design an original weapon for Starbound! Forget about rifles and swords, just create something unique that shall represent Starbound in the future! Like Poptops! A race design contest would be possible, but let's face it: the devs already know what the community wants. They'll likely put a lizard and underwater race since those are much asked for. If they don't add these, then it's because it doesn't suit them or because of technical challenge.

I'd suggest a Monster! Monster! Contest every year or so though. Just 'cause it'd be cool.

 

They are. But it's more of a sims style voice rather than actual English/Any other real language.

OT: I would love to see more contests! Especially seeing as how big a success the Monster Monster contest was.

if there is another contest to have stuff in the game...
I'd hope for it to be for the "Top 3" or whatever from NPCs and Monsters suggestion board.
Maybe even "next Playable Race"
That way I could put a vote for the Glunaughts

Since I joined recently I've never gotten to take part in a contest so I'd love to see one.

 

oh right, I forgot about that. I think the next contest should be, they pick like 10 things from each suggestion category, and then we vote for them!
