What about moons? most would be pretty inhospitable (need a space suit to walk around), and far smaller than an average planet, Maybe if you have the coordinates of a planet you could have a second (/third/fourth im not sure how the coordinates of planets would work (just x? x,y? x,y,z?)) line of coordinates that would be number of orbital rings from a planet (1 would be the closest 2 would be second etc.) and a moon could be in one of those rings (1 could have a moon, it would be a close moon. 2 could be empty, 3 could have another moon etc etc etc.) Just brain storming here, what do you think?
Yeah I had this idea a while ago. I think it would be awesome but it probably should be something they add once they start adding more space stuff like a star chart or something. However I think that some moons should be like in knights of the old republic where they are foresty, frosty, etc. as well as some that need a space suit.
Different day/night cycles? What would happen to the moon if the planet it was orbiting got planetarily orbitally stricken?
mhm, maybe large gas giant planets (like our saturn and jupiter) could have larger moons that are like planets with animals and atmospheres and stuff, while the gas giants themselves may not be explorable (but thats an entirely different suggestion )
doesn't necessarily need unique resources, and its a little hard to say because they haven't said much about minerals and stuff you can mine, but probably rarer minerals because small moons would be much harder to stay on for long periods of time, maybe also unique temples or ruins, maybe they could be safer because of the inhospitably, and less resources like trees. EDIT: larger moons that would be more like planets would probably just be about the same mineral composition as the planets they orbit, this is assuming that minerals on one planet might be rarer on another, so it matters what planets you mine (again a different suggestion )
Kindof on-topic, maybe you can craft life support systems, that will put atmosphere into buildings, this is totally a different suggestion, so I'm not trying to hard to work out the flaws in it. Any other gaping problems with my moons?
