This thread was destined to die from the very beginning. Actually, I assumed it would have been slain by moderator by this point.

Gay may not be a curse word, but anyone who uses it in a demeaning sense should be first laughed at, then ignored.

Keeping on topic here, the one thing we can all agree on, funnily enough, is that the art style is on one extreme end, until shown different. Wether some people have a problem with that is another thing, of course some just want the game in their hands to really careor know beforehand, while the rest seem to just not care in general. Does anyone actually specifically want the the art style like this though?

Havent seen one poster say something like "im only playing the game for the bright coloured goofy grinned pokemon enemies, keep them or die." Whereas, ive seen multiple posts, including my own, saying they dont like the current art style in paticular, the rest basically say that they dont care besides maybe one or two, maybe.

Im sure people will pipe up saying that now just because ive pointed out that no-one has, and some people are just annoyed with me and just want to try make me look bad lol.

But before this post, while many have said they dont like the current art style, there has been maybe one or 2 that hasnt just said they dont care or its good enough or nothing wrong with it, but that they actually prefer it and want it in paticular, just me or is that really weird?.....

Just some food for thought, for those that understand that saying, and everything else ive said instead of getting caught up on which words i use or which group i do or do not refer to derogatively. (Lol, nevermind the ideas or issues behind the words, lets just get caught up and focus on the words themselves, intelligent.)

    Catch you peeps tomorrow.

While I do agree that some of the random monsters I've seen look a little too bright and friendly, I don't directly see it as a bad thing. I mean as long as there is enough variety and some scary/dark monsters as well I think that's good. The key point to me is a lot of variety, then comes the colors and how diverse they look and how they fit into the environment you are exploring. If there are dark environments in Starbound, then I don't see why there wouldn't be dark monsters as well that look a little more scary.

So I'm not so worried about this. :)

It's sometimes hard to take a game about interplanetary exploration/base building seriously when you are fighting monsters that look like it came off Mattel's production lines..with a friggin *sword*.
I think for more dangerous monsters the Devs should crack open a book about folklore and get some ideas from there.

...and someone should replace the swords with something far more practical. Khukuri's or machetes would be awesome.

I think this topic has run its course, its devolved into quite a bit of flaming and has completely derailed. I'm going to go ahead and lock this.
