I know, I know but after you said that I just had to sorry :p but yeah as said before, I'd say its a very safe bet modding will sort this out for you. Hell I'd say it won't be a week after beta before we start seeing penguins fighting slender men.

Haha, never modded before though and dont like the idea, of changing the game up from the original. If i do that, may as well use RPG Maker VX Ace and make my own game completely :p

Ontop of being an ignorant fool, you don't read eithier. I don't have children, any of them actually. Bright Pink is a color in the spectrum, it's not childish (Doubly obvious since it's apparently a color Molly likes.) There are plenty of grown-adults who I'd wager are not only more successful, but more open-minded then you are, who like bright pink, or the color pink in general.
Err...do you realize how ignorant and offensive that comes across as? In my book you just went from being a person to have a civillized discussion with, to being a troll who has no concept of anything at all. Seriously that statment alone nullifies anything you could ever say from this point on, you just look like a giant tool who doesn't care about other people, their opinions, likes or dislikes.

just get a pixel program and you can just edit the shade of color :)

Regal Kain, all i can say is, your life must be really sad.. Also, your nieces and nephew then, not kids, you'll get over it (by the looks not but hey haha)

Anyway, back on topic, of the monster art direction, anyone else?

Again fredmay its not just the colour but the art style in general as well, the pokemon young teen to younger direction it seems to be heading in. Fighting enemies is just going to be basically getting these gay looking things out of my way so i can continue with whatever it was i was doing, i all honesty, unfortunately.

Instead of awesome here comes another monster! or oh no its one of things, run! it'll be sigh, please just die and dissappear. Thats another thing, *they flash a few times and just dissappear in a puff of smoke??* As it currently stands.

Needs to look more meaningful, like you just killed something awesome, or dangerous or whatever, not just cleared another small obstacle, or again is it just me.

  10. You've just made yourself look worse by insulting him in a way that is not related to the conversation.

And art direction? I like it. It's colorful. Like Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, one of my favorite games.

I was just thinking the same thing, haha. Unicorns, pixies, goldfish that walk around on land, not sure how you couldn't call Terraria "cartoony" (or whatever the insult of the day happens to be).

Also, we've only seen a tiny fraction of what Starbound has to offer, and there's still been a mix of themes in what we have seen.

Whiskiz is older than like 13, he's like 15 and too super bad ass for fantastical art directions. No one mess with him please or he'll cut you and turn you into a flesh puppet so he can dance in blood and the color black with super bad ass tall zombies and flying amputated limbs with hooks.

I've said this before but I guess we are re-hashing it again? Whatever you do or don't like about SB can and probably will be modded out/in. So in reality, if you don't like the monsters then mod it. So either way, if you keep it vanilla or mod it, the game will be what we want.

I don't care about the monsters, they look fine. I want to be a monster collector in starbound, light colors like pink will just improve the possibilities.
However, I greatly oppose anything more than a few dev references, and the po monsters.

So I'm reading this during class trying to figuree out how it turned into a fight. As far as I could tell it was ok until regalkain decided the op couldn't have an opinion. Anyway, this may be a recurring topic but ive never weighed in. I would tend to agree that the monsters are "cartoony" but it just looks like an art choice. It goes along with the lighthearted humor of the game. It would make sense tho thst the harder planets have harsher looking monsters. Then again maybe they won't. However whsts scarier than a fluffy pink bunny trying to kill you? Holy hand grenade anyone? Saying cartoony graphics isn't for adults is a bad generalization because so many games are cartoony. To me the gameplay is more important.
