Now even though the monster monster contest is over... I'm not. I still have some creatures in mind that could be in the game at one point, although I'm not the greatest at spriting so... yeah. I decided rather then making just a bunch of threads I'd make one big one, so goody for me. Well then... Let's start shall we? Morphuze Morphuze is the Shapeshifing boss of Starbound, but with a difference. He can only spawn when the player has killed at least 100 different types of enemies. Now assuming the Data... thinging that the character has scans enemies you kill... here's how he works. Morphuze, before he starts fighting the character, scans him/her; after doing so he turns into an empowered version of the creature the player is worst fighting, with empowered abilities and attack of course. After he is halfway down in health (health depends on type of enemy) he will change back and then just start wailing on the poor person himself. A type of plant that has it's roots in most cave walls, but the flower grabs on to any... View attachment 2785 Unfortunate creatures. Fairly easy to kill, but when it grabs you try to kill it before it takes you to the stem. Threat level: 5. A very odd being, much similar to the creature "Bad Moon" yet also different in many ways. No documented pictures have been aqquired yet, but they are said to look like a flying top hat with red eyes on the hat. Some will try to flee when hurt, and others will try to all out attack the player when harmed. When in the line of sight of a character or any type of thing they thing is harmful, they will have tentacled blades come out of they're hat figures, but there are different types. Sad Hatter: When in line of sight of player, will release tentacles shortly out and "throw" themselves at the player, like a shuriken. But when even hit once will fly away from the player, stays when there are more then one. Threat level: 3, 4 in group. Mad Hatter: Ignores beings, but when harmed even once, will go on a slicing rampage with tentacles and can occasionally grab player, throwing them to the ground. When in group attacks all in path, watch out when group is diversed with sad hatters. Threat Level: 4, 6 in group. Rich Hatter: Better refered to as "Scared Hatters" they fly around and have a gold hat, but when in line of sight with any person, will fly away immediately. When cornered, they oddly, self destruct. But when killed by the player, they drop quite a bit of pixels. Very rare. Threat level: 1, 7 when exploding. Trap Hatter: The largest of all hatters, and is less of a hatter and more of just a plain ground trap, normally in caves, they use their tentacles to grab the player, but if player can get high enough they can't reach, but they can shoot energy type blasts that hurt less then being grabbed, but still hurt considerably. If player is killed by it while being grabbed, the trap will eat the person... in a rather gruesome way. Threat level: 8 (Very tough enemy) Bad Hatter: Strangest of all the hatters probably, plants tentacles in the walls and sucks creatures into it's mouth, like a vortex. When player hits the being, it unplants one or two tentacles and tries to grab the player, if grabbed player will be thrown into vortex, which is immediate death, they are rather large, but not as large as the trap hatters, though they are more dangerous and harder to kill. Threat level: 10 (Boss) Lone Hatter: Found on different planets then most hatters, and the single most dangerous hatter there is. When hit by any creature smaller then it, will devour the creature whole. But players are bigger then it, it will release it's tentacles and spin towards the player, most ranged weapons being deflected by it's blades. If tentacles hit wall, it will stop and manually come towards the player attacking them with strikes. Threat level: 8, usually on gas type planets. Biomechanical Golem type beings that are made of both plants and stone, usually guard lesser beings of the forest and can sometimes be found in old ruins, and even deserts, come in many different looks but most are the same as each other, just with different plants growing out of them. No picture available. Threat level: 7. An unnatural being made of a substance known as dark matter, most projectives are useless against it, but laser based weapons can slow it. Only found on planets that have night all the time, they are very odd in the property that they can't truly be killed (In a sense). These beasts can only be split for a temporary amount of time, but there is one thing that can make them disappear for longer then the average weapon does, and that is light as strong as the sun. Another thing strange about them is all light being produced.. they get rid of, such as torches or things like that, not only that, but when walking into light a circle of darkness surrounds them. They are bad in that sense, but oddly enough, don't hurt the charecters much unless the person has low-light suits on. Threat Level: 4, destroys lights and causes darkness to appear in certain circumference around them. A strange race, less monsters and more like a race of misunderstood creatures. Another thing is they're really small, so small that players with normal items can't even see them... but can see their cities. The cities have big obilisks making the center building, which look basically like tiny pointy stones sticking upwards. When you see formations like this, it most likely means Littlins, and what they lack in size... they make up for in intelligence. Rather then try to kill the player if the player angers them, they will attack the players house or base of operations. So basically they're natures griefers. Threat level: Depends on how big player base is, cannot harm player. From Digitech: Destruction Ware, we give you Alien 409-8! Or nicknamed "Ragecage". What is a Ragecage you might be asking yourself... well I'll tell you! A Ragecage is a small bio-engineered creature made from chemicals, a slight metal composition, and dna, lots and lots of dna. The name Ragecage may sound similar to something else you've heard of, if you thought so then you're right! I've used the body of a ordinary young Poptop to create this creature, every other creature I tried it on... well let's just say the results were unsatisfactory, and don't worry the one I used was already dead so no harm done. (We used an ion confibulator to bring it back to life) Now the Ragecage, everything considered, is much different then the Poptop. What appears to be it's stomach has now turned into it's mouth, and it's arms have turned into odd snakelike beasts. When we threw the first subject into a pit of combat, it was able to mercilessly slaughter everything in the room. Except for a Poptop, oddly enough they seemed to get along with each other and fight together, like friends in nature... It's methods of attack were very effective too. When a creature got close enough it would SWALLOW the creature, making it struggle to get out of their mouth/stomach as fast as possible, while dissolvents would slowly hurt the creature it eats. Another method it used was it's arms biting and THROWING the creatures. But it's main method of attack was something unlike anything we've ever seen, it created metal like nets and spit them out of it's arms which didn't trap the creatures, but instead slowed the creatures down tremendously, as well as hurt them alot, and that's not where it ends. After the creatures were hit, the Ragecage seemed to... enrage and charge at them, trying to grab them as well as shoot more nets at them. Reproductions seems... unnaturally normal for a bioengineered creature, it reproduces the same way Poptops do. I have no knowledge of their adult forms sadly, but I'd imagine they'd be more dangerous. I have no current photography of the creatures, and they seemed to spread around the planets very fast, but I'll have more on what they look like soon. And I can tell you this, as far as I know they are a 7 in terms of their threat level, but they are domesticatable, but try to be well prepared before trying. I give you the Roostdra! The Roostdra is bird-like bioengineered creature that is based off the Hydra Mythos, and is much like it in many ways too. While it's heads cannot come back as two, the can still regrow on the creature in a very short amount of time, oddly enough the only way one can be killed is if all heads are destroyed at the same time. It may not look all that dangerous, but it's very agile for it's size and when it uses it's big claw on you... you'd better move. Did I mention it can also spit acid? Hmm, I must have forgotten that. I'll be adding more creatures to the list when I think of some more 'unique' beings, but thanks for reading! Hoped you liked the ideas.
Added some more wacky creations, please leave some sort of feedback people, like what I'm doing wrong or what I'm doing not good enough...
