so i have to postpone my other project (the one with the magic attacks) because i had a better idea what if monsters dropped more loot at once, and you had the choice to make the items into weapons! (im too lazy to make armors so it will stay at weapons) kill a bunny, get bunny pelt, bunny claw, bunny ears, collect like 5 of those to create a bunny sword! but it would have to be worked together with sort of a backpack mod or inventory increaser since it would fill things up quite fast i could easily create some weapons, but adding them on the crafting list etc? i would have to search around quite a bit to find how to do that if anyone is willing to help me with this project, would be quite nice xD
Hello, I just started modding Starbound and haven't done something like this before. But when I remember correctly, you have to make a .recipe file. the original recipes could be found in the recipes folder of the unpacked Assets. And you need to add the Weapon in the player.config (or if it should be only for a specific race, use the .species files in the species folder). To make it work with other mods you have to make a .patch file, to add the weapon into the player. config or the species file. Just for the case you don't know how to make the .patch file, take a look at this link: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/basic-patching-now-with-path-guide-v1-9.84496/ I hope I remembered correctly and that it helped you, to add the weapon to the crafting list. Have a nice Day/Night and Joy and Happiness Panthera Pardus
well its a dead end already, monsters in this game are like its 4 different monsters in total small 4 leg monster small 2 leg monster big 4 leg big 2 leg and those use a randomized part collection, 20 random heads, 15 random tails etc 1 small 4 leg monster might go with a horn-head, a devil-tail etc, another might have a bunny-tail etc, but its all one and the same monster which cant have seperated loot tables so there cant be loots extra for the monster parts >_> so sad
Maybe this mod can be done when they finish implementing all the the new unique monsters into Starbound? http://playstarbound.com/16th-october-sharkdog/
well then at least creating monsters will be easier, but changing the existing ones i doubt it really xD because 90% of the monsters you see, are 1 monster with different parts attached to it
