Molten Core? Used To Craft A MetalWork Station

Hey Guys!

Really enjoying day 1 of release.

Im trying to make a metalwork Station but i need a Molten Core

Just wondering if anyone knows what that is and where i can get one!

Have you defeated Ragnaros yet?

 

You need to make a distress beacon.
Then, you need to defeat the following boss.

But that's INCREDIBLY difficult, because the highest gear you can get, doesn't do SQUAT.
I had to abuse a one block gap, and fire arrows for about 15 minutes, just to bring it down. Just one of it's minions is enough to bring down to critical levels of health.
I also had just about the best gear you could even CREATE at that point. Only thing I was missing was a Silver chestplate.

 

How did you do that ? ... I tried to abuse the ship all the different ways possible, but it just flies high up and then never comes back for me at like 50% HP..

Is there anything after the Penguin Boss quest wise?.. Feel like i'm just floating through the game now with nothing to do but to farm for the Silver Armour then have another "Stab" at the Penguin Boss.....

This is taking far to long to do anything at the moment for me i feel.......

 

iirc quests stop after the UFO. cant confirm tho as I'm at the UFO myself

From what I've seen spears do extra damage to the UFO ...

 

Finally managed to kill the UFO,

Used about 10 Red Stim Packs, 20 Bandages to do it though.

This is a boss that you can't even have a go at till you get the FULL Silver armor. He will basically just 1 or 2 hit you without it. Then you have the little demo Penguins (Which do more damage than the boss)

Trick i used was to make a cover over the top of myself (basic house design) with one side open, where i could poke the little mobs in without getting hit by the boss. Then when all the little mobs are dead i would heal up and start to kill the boss again. Took ALOT of damage but the Stim Packs and bandages worked a treat.

Total Fight time was close to 20mins.

Also, this is a good place to use the blue stim pack as it gives you higher jumps.

Stim Packs:
Red - Health Regeneration
Blue - Higher Jumping
Green - Movement Speed
Yellow - Shiny Character

Not sure if there are any more colours though.

I have just killed UFO boss few minutes ago. Then Molten Core appeared. I was trying to reach it. But it disappeared after several seconds... And... Nothing happens any more... There is no one quest in progress... Its very frustrating...

dunno if killing stuff thro walls is a bug, the ufo is indeed fat and takes alot to kill, thats what i did

 

I'd like to mention that tonight, there will be a change to the UFO :

- Level 9 instead 10 = faster to kill
- The UFO can destroys block.

Just beat him again, It's not that hard to be honest. All you need is alot of bandages, silver armor, patience, and the best weapon you can find/make.

After you get the steel items then you can down him with about 10 sword swings (if you have the proper weapon).. Easy as pie. I'm glad that they are not reducing the difficulty that much.

If he was to easy there would be no need to collect and craft all the silver armor at all, as you get steel right of the bat when you get the molten core...

Ofc now i'm passed that UFO boss so i don't really mind all that much..

 

Did the UFO spawn INSIDE the dirt thing or did you build it around him?

 

I fought him earlier today. (Can't recall the exact time) I think the Penguin Boss actually just spawns from the distress beacon itself. It broke itself and poof comes a boss.

 

Do you know were his littleshitsminions show up?

 

I abused a glitch where it got stuck on my cheatdome and its laser was off center of my shooty hole but part of the ship was exposed. It wasn't fun and it hurt my hand.

 

I think that his little minions were teleported off the ship. There is a point where the ship gets near the ground and a blue beam from the middle of the ship fires and several enemies appear. But while the boss was fighting my friends and I all the minions were scattered. They really didn't affect the fight just more or less a nuisance.

 

Shit, my shaman will never get that hammer. Killed that sucker over 50 times before TBC.
