Upsetting you was not my intention
Unless of course you want to drink the whiskey. I hear parents used to rub whiskey on babies gums when they're teething to numb the pain, so I'm sure it works for itty bitty witto dwagons too!~

The thing is, hunger is actually an optional mechanic. Even in the base game, people can disable it if they choose. Not sure about warmth, but it's possibly also the same.

Skimpy armor mods have always pissed me off.

Actually, that's one of the reasons that Skyrim's modding community has frustrated me so far. 90% of the time if I go to the Skyrim Nexus, at least one of the top/latest/"hot" mods is some lame armor mod. Hell, going there right now as a fact-check, I see a typical tiny, insignificant armor mod named "daughter of war." Back in the days of Oblivion and Fallout 3, there were full on overhaul packs a few months after release (the former - Francesco's!). Skyrim? Not so.

It's not even that I mind additional armor and weapons - in fact, I love that. But I can't survive on just one piddly suit of armor, I want dozens to choose from, with varying strengths and weaknesses! I want overhauled game mechanics! New areas to explore (well, that doesn't apply with Starbound, oh well)! New quests to finish!

Two of my favorite mods of all time were Oblivion mods - they were Frostcrag Reborn and Oblivion XP. The latter was great for me because it replaced Oblivion's (and the TES series as a whole, actually) "use skill to train skill" system. That system only frustrated me and encouraged grinding (remember the invulnerable-yet-vulnerable frozen followers of Peryite?). Instead, you had a traditional XP system with point buying, like in Fallout. Then Frostcrag Reborn... damn. That was an ambitious and successful mod. I don't think I've ever played a mod that had such a huge, amazing area to explore quite like the lost underground of Frostcrag Spire.

I humbly request, as a non-mod-maker, that you guys who are so willing to give up your free time for others to have some entertainment do so in a way that's more productive and interesting than an array of boring one-shot armor/weapon mods. Given Starbound's procedural generation, there's a lot you can do with that: add more item textures/effects (armor, weapon, accessory, matters not), add new biomes or mini-biomes, add new blocks and building materials... all sorts of fun stuff. Go nuts! But don't produce this kind of black hole of interest and fun: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38053/?tab=3&navtag=/ajax/modimages/?id=38053&user=1&pUp=1

I am not looking forward the the hundreds of weapon mods that just add a post endgame weapon that is the best ever

Oh, I'm not upset. Not at all. This is what I expect, and the drinking game is just a little running gag I have. (I use this screen name elsewhere)
"Take a shot every time someone acts Patronizing because of my name."

And it's kinda meant to be that way since my screen name is from an inside joke where "patronizing" was ironically quite appropriate.

  9. Desorbo

You know you guys don't HAVE to play with the MLP mod, right?

  11. Gouki

The mere existence of a MLP mod would be an insult to the game and its players. Not to mention a potentially gigantic waste of man-hours by whomever will have created the mod.

I think people are just saying MLP because they are trolling a bit.

The only people with the right to complain about pony mods, are people who play garry's mod, because it is a serious issue over there.

Well, nobody would have been complaining if not Gmod and several other games with large influx of pony content... it just feels rather creepy that your favourite game may be filled with so much content you don't really like and almost despise just due to sheer fact you're not really into it and there's just too much of that stuff no matter where you'd go.

Mods are created to add more enjoyable content to the game. It's not an insult; it's more of "selective DLC". If people decide they want to create a MLP mod; that's great. People do what they want to do; and if they believe it was worth it, then they haven't wasted any time at all.

Personally there is no mod that I don't want to see. If someone can make it than more power to them. There is likely a mighty boat load of mods I would never, ever want to play with, but why should that stop other people from making them? If you don't like other people's mod ideas then don't use them, the idea that you have the right to tell them what mods they should and shouldn't be making is rather arrogant, don't you think?
