Mods you DON'T wanna see

Ok, I can agree with this.
The Sonichu mod is one mod that doesn't need to exist under any circumstances ever.

 

Mods that I would like to do done in the wrong way.

 

For a second I thought there was a thread about moderator hatred going around unlocked for some reason.

That said, uh... I only play vanilla and maybe some esthetic mods in every game, but I guess I wouldn't like to see any sort of "fusion" mods with other games (like Terraria or Minecraft, and speaking of Terraria no mods that add the ever-discussed "magic" factor to the game).

I'm a huge fan of Crossovers, but mods that try and do this always result in inconsistent piles of crap!

 

A Beta mod, which is a mod to simulate the wait for Beta in the Beta.

 

"We're sorry, but this mod is currently in BETA, and will be released when we feel like it. Please Wait and keep looking at the daily updates!"

Any mod what so ever that makes the game easier to the point of almost no difficulty.

 

Mods I don't wanna see:
1) Cartoon-based mods (MLP, Spongebob, Adventure Time, etc)
2) "Realistic crafting" mods (To make building a laser gun more realistic, you need to craft X and X and X and X then fuse it in a machine to help create X which is needed for X...)
3) "Forced hardcore" mods (Ever heard of Gregtech, an addon for IndustrialCraft on Minecraft? Its kinda like that and tends to also fall in the category of 2)

 

Hmn I don't know if this is really that big a deal. Rather I think it doesn't happen that often.

For example a lot of minecraft mods have variants of solarcells.. engines.. all that. Some so close and behaving so much alike you could swear they where ripping each other off. Yet often it is just a case of different people running with the same general idea.. IC2 has a mining machine.. so does buildcraft, and so on.

I don't care what mods come out myself.. just that malicious files masquerading as mods get taken care of quickly.
With so many people modding that maybe an issue.

 

Not sure how the API will work, but if you wanted to join a server and they have a certain mod which you don't, won't you be forced to install said mod if you want to have access?

Sounds forced to me.

 

Suicide is a real problem and not a joke. It's easy to throw it around because it has sadly become normal on the internet to tell people to kill themselves. Still, we'd probably be better off taking a minute to think about a better way to express frustration with someone than by jokingly suggesting they end their life.

Anything that gives you a blatant edge over other players in multiplayer.

 

A game mod commandment:

No mod shall ever negatively interfere with the player's private storage.
If you're going to make a storyline mod where the player gets captured and their gear confiscated or something ... Don't ever do it out of the blue. WARN them first so they can make a backup, in case something goes wrong / they can't finish the plot / etc.

 

Look, I'm sorry that you're wrong. But the sooner you learn to deal with it the happier you'll be.

To contribute: Realistic digestion mods. Verisimilitude gone a step too far.

 

I don't care what mods will be out there. You have the power to choose which to install, you know?

I'm ok with every mod. Pony mods, Sonic mods, family mods Homestuck mods, TvK... I mean, it's up to me to download them so, no problem.
I only ask some quality. Wanna do a family mod? Ok. But please, don't make a "Katawa Shoujo: Starbound Edition 20% more autistic". THAT i don't want to see.

 

You do know what mods are right? Everyone has to have them to be able to play together.
