Mods you DON'T wanna see

We already have avians and apex, don't need any more.

You do know the Avali are actually space-Raptors, right? It's even explained that the ears are that big because their poor eyesight requires they need to use the independently moving ears to creating 3D maps of an area based on sound.

 

Hopping raptors with fur instead of feathers&scales, long rabbit ears and rabbitlike legs.

You know what, I'd link you to the Avali wiki that goes into a lot of wonderful detail to point out how wrong you are, but something tells me you're just gonna brush it off and keep calling them space-rabbits, even though you are wrong.



There we are. Look there, feathers and all! They just look the way they do because this game is sprite-based.

Hey lad, it's what they look like to me.
But it's not like I've got any knowledge on how actual animals look or how their body works, I've only studied Animal Medical Healthcare.
Which means my opinion on a creatures appearance and assumption on what species it can potentially be related to is irrelevant.
The structure of those things is just so incredibly incompetent..

 

I know this is about mods I don't want to see, but for a decent and brief breath of fresh air, I'd like to see mods where each race can craft a crossbow that would fit the crafting formula for mats needed and for damage dealt. They'd look different when crafted by a Glitch/Floran/etc and scale up to Tier 10, that way I could reliably get meat in Beta and Gamma sectors and beyond without either finishing off the mobs with a bow or buy the meats on a village I might not find.

There's nothing I don't want to see unless somehow Chucklefish forces us to install everything, but plenty I wouldn't want to use.
Whatever floats your boat, go ahead... if I don't like it and don't have to use it then it doesn't effect me at all.
I like skimpy armours though, I like to look and feel sexy IRL as well as in games. My current character is rocking a red boots, mini skirt and halter top get up with a cute bear hat. ...And a ridiculous Impervium hammer that she wouldn't be able to lift never mind swing if Starbound was realistic unless she was in a low gravity environment. Lucky she has the flying bubble tech thing otherwise she'd go sailing off towards the sun every time she tried to raise it to strike

On the flip side, I'd love a much more involved start to the game. Maybe where you've actually crashed your ship into your starter planet (it would have to force no meteor unless your ship was invulnerable, guarantee wood and plant matter etc) and you have nothing that works other than your Matter Manipulator so you have to start from caveman tools (much like you do now, only more drawn out), having to repair functions of your ship like the teleporter, 3D printer and patch the ship up so you can leave.
Maybe have the ability to teleport to planets in the direct system so you could make it a longer part of the game to repair your ship without stranding you with no chance to gather the materials to fix it. Really emphasise the survival aspect. I know that would be against what a lot of people want but they wouldn't have to install it obviously, and I think it would be pretty great and make it feel more special when you can finally take off and start your interstellar journey.
That's probably something I might look into making myself when the development of Starbound settles down and we have more of a concrete idea of where the game and its progression is going.

 

1 : Any kind of nude patch. Seriously. Just f*ck nope.
2 : MLP. Haters gonna' Hate.
3 : Horror mods. i just don't like that (YES, I'M A COWARD )
4 : Fetishism and R34 suff.
5 : Lore unfriendly mods.

However, a XCOM mod would be pretty damn awesome.
