Check the pinned topic MODDING GUIDES specially, the guide How to Successfully Pack and Unpack .pak Files by Sexual Rhinoceros
Wraithbone made a GUI to Pack and Unpack ".pak" mods to make it easier but I tried it and it didn't unpack a ".modpak" mod, it works with ".pak files but needs updating for ".modpak" files. After reading Sexual Rhinoceros's topic, he shows us the Manual way of packing and unpacking ".pak and .modpak" files using "cmd prompt", but another SB member mentioned that you could add the cmd prompt commands that Sexual Rhinoceros shows into a ".bat" file and make it a little easier for the time being. I'm not at the my PC atm but I will try that when I'm online next.
@CommanderWasp1x, that was a 1½ month old reply I'm pretty sure it was figured out and there are multiple programs to pack & unpack files. Personally I don't need any programs when it's easy to make simple drag&drop batch files on Windows
I had trouble with a ".modpak" someone said if I just retype that and change it from ".modpak" to ".pak" it'll work, does it work? I don't want to do it IF it risk damaging the mod. Thanks
Your mod can't be damaged while packing. As it doesn't modify the original files. Yes that is all you have to do
