Unable to find the Silver Bar Recipe. It doesn't show up in the Stone Furnace, doesn't show up in the Alloy Furnace, and doesn't show up in the Magnetic Crucible. I have plenty of Silver to make bars (80 pieces currently). I'm at a bit of a lost on why it doesn't show up. I thought it might of been a mod, but I disabled the only mod that goes anywhere near the Silver bar recipe to no effect. (Galactic Shops) I've tried dropping the ore and picking it back up to try to trigger a recipe unlock. And the only quest I have available is the Durasteel armor quest, which.. I can't exactly do without being able to make Silver Bars first, unless I just want to scavenge or pay for silver using the Galactic Shop's ore shop. Am I just missing something?
Okay. That is the wrong wiki is all. The information on there is out of date and incorrect. All the info you need is on the official wiki, as linked. Look up whatever armor you are trying to make on there, it says how the recipe is unlocked. http://starbounder.org/Steel_Bar (and again, silver has nothing to do with this, which is it is only found on Tier 3 and above planets)
The issue isn't that I'm unable to craft it, the issue is the recipe itself does not show up. It's not listed in the craftables with the other bars. Greyed out or otherwise. (the Materials Available option is unchecked, so it should show up even if I don't have the resources for it) But on the safe side I did check placing it in all three tags with no success. The recipe still doesn't show up.
I ended up creating a player patch.config.patch file to tell the game to force add the recipe to the characters. Had to do the same thing to gold when I realized that too was missing. Still no idea what's causing it.
I ran into this same problem as you and began to go through everything. I ended up with the conclusion that it is the More Craftable Blocks Mod. I removed the mod, dropped and picked up both gold and silver ore, got the recipe, and installed the mod again. If you have that mod I would venture to guess thats what it is.
I have the same problem only that I can't find any silver or moons in my starting area, checked every planet but couldn't find it. Bought erichius fuel for my ship to look in other systems (can't even use the fucking fuel) for moons and silver because apperantly I need silver armor to get to steel armor, there is no direct crafting for steel armor, thus me being unable to progress to the mining facility and stopping all progress. I am at my last fuck to give because I have scoured pages and pages for usefull information but was unable to find any. If anyone would be able to help me I would appreciate that ALOT.
Silver has nothing to do with Steel, it is much later in progression. You do not need silver. Because I am genuinely curious where everybody is getting this info. I see this 1-2 times per day.
I found this information here : http://starbound.gamepedia.com/Steel_Armor I believed this source because I COULD NOT find a steel armour recipe, only iron. Even though I have plenty steel bars the metalwork station does not provide it. I was then looking for silver so I could progress, believing the problem was there but in search for silver I came to notice I didn't find ANY silver on forest and desert planets, the only ones available to me form the start. Now my question is: where can I possibly find silver or just make steel armor that starbound suddenly doesn't provide a recipe for anymore.

Could I get a copy of that patch file, or could you paste the code? I'm not fluent in .patch yet and am having the same issue.
i have this exact same problem except with all the beginning armors can u explain how u force got the recipes because i am completely unable to obtain them even in admin mode where it gives you all the recipes
