mining tools

i have noticed that there will be pickaxes in space game.
why not invent some kind of new mining tool ?
this isnt terarria after all.
i got some idea
if we keep pickaxes only at the start of the game along with other starting mining tools that work the same but LOOK different.
like a monster that you hold in your hand and slowly eats of dirt and stones .
or a laser burner. or later ones could be a magnetizers that sucks down blocks into one space avaivable to be picked up.
there are many ideas like this i dont have much but alot of people should have those

The pickax is just the starting tool. I'm sure they will have all sorts of strange mining tools for later tiers.
