Minibosses, Guns and these "rare random encounters"

Hey guys got 2 things I noticed and another thing I would like to know:

1. Since the latest patch I did not encounter ANY minibosses at all, you know these bad guys dropping legendary weapons and even assault rifles and similar stuff. I really would like to fight more of them, but yet unable to find a single one, and I am already in Gamma Sector. Did they lower the spawnrate or did they change this unintended? Or am I just unlucky with minibosses currently? I really would like to have some cool legendaries and maybe even a gun.

2. Guns: I saw many NPCs with guns and I know players can have them aswell. There are traders trading with guns. But in general they are encountered extremly rare. Gun drops are similar. I slaughtered in Gamma already through 2 well guarded bunkers and 1 Floran prison and not a single gundrop. So my question is: Does anybody have coords for a gun trader in Gamma sector? I would like to buy a shotgun or assault rifle since I am preparing for the third boss currently.

Can somebody explain me some example for one of these encounters? When I read this I got kinda excited but cant immagine what these encounters might be.

 

1: I have encountered these things randomly on the surface and also have gotten into an area that had an encounter while digging into a cave system.

2: I sadly do not have coords for such places at the moment, but I do hope that they start making up the rarity of guns soon.

 

Thanks for letting me know about the bosses, kinda want less rare guns aswell, I mean I am running literally since I started the game with broadswords. I just want some more uh... variety. I know I could use the random dropped weps with elemental effects but they have flaws I kinda dislike.

Well anyone else having coords for a weapon trading planet in Gamma Sector and Sector X to which I head tonight?

 

I've encountered a few minibosses in gamma but even in titanium armor they one shot me. They run faster than me and out jump me too so while I think the only way you are going to kill one of these things is with a gun if they are the only thing that will drop it well... I guess someone much better than me might be able to pull it off.

 

Minibosses seem to always one-shot you with their charge attack if you're at the same level as them, I've survived their range attacks though.

I've only ever seen minibosses drop melee weapons. Prisoners in USCM prisons occasionally drop guns, and soldiers in USCM bases often drop guns, in my experience. The best stuff I've always found in chests though, that's the only place I've seen uncommon and above ranged weapons, as well as rocket launchers and grenade launchers.

 

Alright thanks for the new info you 2, going to check the bunkers and trying to find the bosses to fight them on my own.

But Titanium armor? I mean PURE titanium armor? Or is it the race specific armor?

 

I found a sniper in Delta that does 113 damage per shot, low fire rate, but damn that thing packs a punch.

 

Actually its quite easy to kill them, just jump when they charge and hit them back, i killed tons of minibosses

 

shields work like a dream against minibosses, at least mine does but i think it is a top tier shield.

There's an exploit in the balance of the game that you can take advantage of to stock up on tonnes of weapons, guns included (chances are the same as finding a melee weapon) and especially once you get to Xeta sector, even if you're only tier 5 you can sneak into a threat 10 planet and grab one.

Once you hit durasteel, craft a Survival Kit and some warm clothes and head to an asteroid field. Travel around for a bit using whatever method, avoid fighting monsters if you prefer, and eventually you'll come across an asteroid base. In the broken medical cabinet in the bottom right of the base, there will ALWAYS be a weapon which has a tier rating matching the threat level of the asteroid field.

This seriously needs to be fixed, Asteroid bases are way too common and with a Boost tech you can practically fly around asteroid fields and find one almost every minute, if even that.

 

dont know why your having problems finding guns. i usually find 2-3 on nearly every planet i explore. i currently have around 100 guns(about 20 legendaries) and have destroyed 3-4 times that amount. every single "larger" surface chest i find contains a gun.
as far as miniboss drops. ive only gotten 2-3 legendary gun drops from them. 99% of their drops are green trash.

 

Oh this is why this topic keeps popping up, yeah between some patches encounters were a little bit bugged, its fixed by now though...

Though Lolling at finding minibosses after a few hours on a new character is kinda awkward regarding that this topic is from... let me get this: 12 december 2013... a week or so after early access release... really necromancers are everywhere :O
