Mini-Village Underground (Steam Gnomes?)

I found this tiny village this morning while searching for ore and noticed that no one had posted about it yet so here it is for all you fellow bounders!

I found such a gnome village, they seem to be wealthy gnomes, considering they're never home and they have lots of pixels in their tiny, picket-fenced houses.

 

There has been posts about the houses before though they're fairly old. There was a pretty good theory that the houses belong to pixels and pixels are actually alive.

 

I started calling it the "Little Village Biome" Instant favourite when I stumbled across it

 

If the game creators are drawing from Starflight, that'd be an homage. That game's fuel source, "Endurium" turned out to be alive.

 

I came across an extremely extensive one of these yesterday. I had no idea what the streetlights were. Tried to mine one out as an interesting light source and it gave me pixels. Irritation. My daughter was quite enchanted by the small houses, and was equally disappointed when mining them produced pixels instead of placeable little houses.

However, the soft brick that these sit on is just about the most beautiful block I've seen. I mined the heck out of it.

 

Came across those at my first time playing beta, i was just waiting for some tiny villagers to appear haha. Maybe a future race/biome?

 

A race of little people wielding normal sized rifles would be terrifying. If this became a playable race, it would make for some interesting ship and house designs.
Maybe it would be small groups of three wielding each rifle? It would certainly put a smile on my face to see such silliness.
Beware my star exploring friends! For the Verminites have come to steel your pixels and eat your coal!

 

Pixels=Pixies? They are eaten by monsters and are found in every ore then you squish them into a voxel. That is a funny theory but I am not sure i like the implications it kind of makes me feel like a monster.
I was sad that the houses broke into pixels instead of being collected. I wanted to have a tiny village on my ship.

 

Can't wait for tiny npc villagers to be added in, fear me little gnome npc's for I am Alpha and Omega.
