Mini Bosses are too powerful

    Their health is ok, it takes many hits to kill but not too many. Their damage is through the roof tho. The mini bosses on a planet of equal level to my gear tend to kill me with a single charge attack. Every single mini boss I have beaten, I have done so by building a thin platform up out of their reach and shooting at them. As they are now, mini bosses do more damage than tier bosses and that seems wrong to me.

    Suggestion one: nerf mini boss damage
    Suggestion two: give all mini bosses a random ranged attack(so i can't stand on a pillar and shoot at them)

    This will make them a more fair, and challenging fight.

    It does indeed seem to be bugged, I had a full set of the best armor I could have for the planets I was on, and I was able to be one-hit by them. Even with full health.

    I was getting hit for 45 with my shield up, proceeded to just beam out. Had another one hit me for my entire health when I was a tier ahead of the content. Some of the mini bosses are just crazy.
     
  4. as soon as you build a protective wall around yourself and extend it around your "op miniboss" making him look like a little whim completly unable to bring up any challenge at all until the devs decide to give them the ability to break blocks.

    Out of curiosity, what stage of the game are you having this problem with? I've been taking it real slow, building, having fun exploring, etc., and not really rushing to progress thru, so I've only made it to Beta sector since the latest patch came out (started a new character). I have fought 4 mini bosses, 3 in Alpha and 1 in Beta. All 4 were tough, but not so tough to make me feel there was something amiss. First one managed to kill me, but the other 3 I managed to kill using 2H sword, a few bandages, an iron bow, and tactical use of terrain to limit its movement (by that I mean using the terrain to my advantage, NOT cheesing it with dirt walls and a hole). I seem to be able to take about 3 hits from them, so it's wise to jump away, use a bandage, hit it with the bow, and then rush back in with melee. That said, I've not been past Beta with this char, so if you're having this problem with getting one-shot in Gamma and beyond, I can't really offer an opinion or advice...

    Actually, now that I think about it. The mini bosses were nice and balanced pre gamma. They proceeded to dominate the Gamma+ sectors. I've only really had problems with the Charger type mini bosses, the Air bosses and ones that did that belly drop crap weren't to much a problem.

    charge mini bosses are a problem in the lower sectors too but again it is only the charge bosses they will hit you for anywhere from 75 - 90 wearing iron armor in alpha sometimes even 1hko you which is not how they are supposed to be more challenging than a mob less challenging than a boss as their name implies

    I'm having the same issue since this patch. Made a new character, still in alpha sector. Wearing full copper armor at the moment and can't find a single weapon worth a damn.... same goes for crafting early stages - My iron bow is the best with that crit attack... (anyways I digress) The mini-boss one shots me every time and yes it's a charger. Full health even, bam I'm dead.

    I take it slow and like to build up through to silver armor while still in the Alpha sector before I leave it for Beta. I've yet to see the ridiculousness of them 1-hit ko'ing me in Iron... though from the posts this is what I can expect to happen.

    They always one shot me but those attacks are avoidable. I think they should 3 hit ko with a top tier armor, or 2 shot with a lower armor, something like that

    Yeah, this has happened to me on every single mini-boss except the first one I encountered.

    The first enemy (right next to the teleport spot) was a bird mini-boss. Tore him down, got a legendary sword that set me up from then on lol.

    Every single mini-boss since has been a charge style melee one that one shots me even while I'm wearing the best armor for that sector/level/tier.

    I don't mind anything else they do except the damage. You sit there dancing around the guy, have him almost dead, and you get one instance of a funny looking attack pattern, get tapped, and you're done. It's just not fun for the same reasons that most instant kill attacks in games aren't fun. It's completely out of your control (from an 'as intended' approach).

    I can confirm that charge based minibosses still one-shot me in the highest tier of racial gear atm.
