Ok guys, listen to this. One time, I was exploring when I found this GIANT bird. It attacked me until I only had 1 segment of health left. But instead of killing me, it just flew away. Has anyone else experienced this?

yeah. flying mobs seem to have very short attention spans. if i jump and move a fair bit they tend to fly away.
    this happens frequently for me.

1 or twice I guess. It might be a case of leaving attack range if that exists or it just lost interest. Im pretty sure that it's only happened to me with neutral monsters though ( the ones you must hit first for it to attack you)

I've had that happen with those flying mini-boss ones a couple times. One didn't even hit me, it just flew off to space. The other at least hit me a good bit then decided I wasn't worth it before going into space like the other one. This was two separate occasions with two different characters. Also the first time was in Furious Koala, and the other more recent. So it has been there for a good bit.

I find it frustrating when I actually want to defeat it, else it really isn't much a bother to me. :)

    birds will fly away when
-they cant see you (ie went into a house, close the door, or went into a tunnel, then seal the tunnel), they wont look for another entrance
-you went a bit too far away, and they seems cant see things a bit behind them.

A while back they shortened the flying enemy agro range because my god those things used to follow you CLEAR ACROSS THE PLANET.

Additionally, like ground mobs, one type of flying mob from each planet is a passive monster. Since there are different monsters for night time, this makes 4 monsters per planet that are passive: two ground, two air, two day, two night.

You missed the early versions of the game.
When the UFO boss used to fly off in the middle of battles

They seem to like the taste of me ¬_¬

Most birds i know will sense me through the walls of my house and sit there all night attacking the roof.

Flying enemies used to chase players until killed. Given how common they are, people got annoyed and changes were made.

probably because you have some incomplete background blocks. they need to be behind the roof and walls to keep birds from sensing you.
