Mineral/plant/environmental dangers quantity and quality of planets and moons

The minerals found on a planet should apply to a logical system. Possibly where planets close to the sun have heavy elements, iron, gold, silver, platinum in large quantities but are dangerously hot, filed with lava and require specialised equipment to survive. Lighter elements such as copper and diamond should be in abundance on the outer planets, but they should be forever cold and also require specialised equipment, along with dangerous arctic mobs and low visibility. The middle planets should have a mixture of resources, plant life and depending on the sun in the system should vary where civilisations are likely to be. Additionally some planets should not have an atmosphere or have a toxic atmosphere.

Similarly the inner and outer planets should not have any plant life. A system to see the dangers of a planet and its general mineral composition seems a sensible thing to include on a ship, since how else would a space fairing civilisation be able to colonize other planets.

Moons of planets should sometimes be better mineralogically or in terms of plant life than the supporting planet and should have it's own weather systems based on its orbital position.

I completely agree - It should also be possible to pay a sum of Pixels to make a quick long-range scan of a planet (Or send a probe from the ship) to gauge the levels of minerals, plant- and wildlife and enviromental hazards.

The only problem with this that I see is that the planets seed for the random number generator for everything is determined by its "location" in the universe, which i guess some of the details such as those could just be determined by what ring the planet is in. And i also agree with the long range scan of the planet for resources, but end game or near. As that could be potentially game breaking at the very start.

Do agree with this somewhat, as it currently is I dont see much reason to go to an ice planet or moon as it is extra effort to manage temperature with no gain in resources other than the unique tilesets that exist on those planets. I am able to acquire the exact same resources that I would find on safer, warmer planets. Would be great to see greater quantities of rarer minerals on planets that present more of a challenge and preparation. Or resources only obtainable on more inhospitable planets.
