Minecraft or Starbound?

Why does people feel the needs to post dumb questions?

Asking a question that, noone can actually answer

Not gonna vote on the poll, by the way.

 

Minecraft:
-A ridiculously low amount of tiers for tools
-A ridiculously low amount of weapon variation
-Ridiculously easy monsters
-Requires mods/online to be fun
-Expensive

Starbound
-Wtf how am i supposed to know the game isnt even out yet

 

Minecraft because I've actually played it.

I love how so many people are calling starbound an amazing game, not even saying it probably will be, just that it is, when they (more than likely) haven't played it.

 

Ugh.... I like Minecraft better right now (because I can play it), but after Starbound is released, I will probably tear my mind in half over this question.

 

People play Minecraft for the building aspects (Its basically legos). People play games like Terraria and what not for the side-scrolling action, its like Super Metroid, but with placeable blocks, where the building aspects aren't the core factor of the game.

I myself dabbled in Minecraft for a little bit, but I personally preferred Terraria over it because of the action, the combat, items, RPG elements, etc. Everyone has their own cup of tea. A lot of the people I've met who are die hard MC fans are youngsters (ages 8-13), because like I've said, its basically legos. Building blocks just don't interest me much anymore (in a way, that scares me. Does that mean my creativity has dropped?)

 

You can't compare a game to SB when SB isn't even out yet. Besides Minecraft is 3d and SB is a 2d side scroller in space, 2 totally different animals.

 

starbound because i keep getting headaches from playing minecraft even just a little bit.
(i have that with some games, dunno why)

 

Which do you like better: PS4 or PS5?

I'm going with PS5 because it has increased sandwich mechanics. The PS4 doesn't even have the ability to make me a sandwich.

 

Starbound, don't get me wrong, I like Minecraft, but after laying it since alpha a change of pace would be nice. Besides, Minecraft requires a lot of new blood to survive in a game library, hence all the mods and texturepacks. I think starbound may have a longer lifespan.

Minecraft will have something Starbound will never have: shaders.

 

I still play Minecraft and enjoy it.
Minecraft for now, since it exists as others have mentioned.

 

This poll wouldn't be nearly as bias if it was on a general gaming forum, and that BOTH games had been released. Of course Starbound is winning as this is the Starbound Forums. Yet it hasn't been released yet so we don't know if we'll personally enjoy it or not, all I'm saying is this poll is redundant in that aspect and I could see possible flaming because of it. For now, I'll say Minecraft. But when the beta is available, it'll definitely be playing both although predominantly Starbound, as it looks really exciting.

 

If Starbound is as good as I think it is, I'll go for Starbound.
If Starbound turns out to suck, I'll still go with Starbound.

Also, would it not make more sense if you compared Starbound with Terraria or Edge Of Space?

But yes, it would make more sense as they are both available to play and in the same genre (action, side-scroller, rpg)

 

Both. I'm looking forward to Starbound, and i'm looking forward to the FTB modpacks to be released for Minecraft 1.6 (whenever they're going to be ready). They both have the sandbox elements I enjoy, Starbound of course has the added adventure elements but I don't specifically need those to enjoy it.
