this would be a little Easter egg and it would also would be a mine that buries itself and when somebody's near it would walk toward it similar to the spider mine in Starcraft 2 or maybe you could command it to move "this " many blocks and stuff like that.
It could be a cool joke monster. If it were in game, I'd capture a lot of them, and then throw them all at my enemy's base so they end up stepping on the walking mines and blowing up. Another thing that would be cool to do with them would be to do a challenge with a few friends, similar to what OdysseyGamez did with Terraria.
why not just make a world where all the life forms are mine based? im sure that world would have a long healthy life span.

how about you can pick them up like a mine then throw them on the ground and patrol the area within a 5 radius?

Quit crying, as much as i know you, you would love to put pretty, pretty ponies into the game. and, no, that is not any better.
I think that random internet stuff shouldn't be added into the game. Yes, and I'm sure that if you like something, it'd be completely normal to assume that you'd want it in the game.
