Dramatization: Your Ronald Mc.Donald working on your farm in the space age, theres a pig there, cow over there, Ronald is plantin wheat, Look at the sun and rub your forehead. But that isn't a sun.. FALLING STAR! *boom*
I think Starbound should have objects that collide with planets, since instead of one planet there are multiple planets they should occur even if the player isn't there.
Sure there are meteors and Shooting stars, but why not have a random piece of ore on the surface? Meteors would have some ores lodged in, and stars would have compounds you can use for battery related items/processes.

  2. Reminds me of Terraria, and it was a feature I rather enjoyed. I approve.

Yeah that is where I got the thought from.

They should also implement time triggered events that creates multiple falling stars or meteors only in a certain planet.

It would be an epic meteor shower, and you have to build an underground shelter to survive it or something

it would be cool if they fell like fallen stars in terraria dealing damage to enemies they fall on

If you get hit with a mammoth-sized meteor, it should be able to knock the planet out of orbit. Seasons and climates change radically and chaotically until the planet eventually falls into its sun or escapes out into space, loses its atmosphere and becomes a mammoth meteor in its own right. Everything on the surface of the planet dies, but underground life should be able to survive.
