These old robots were once used to work for humans but after a while they started thinking on there own and the humans didn't like that so they shut them all down. one afternoon in 3564, 60 years after the space travel program known as Starbound began a high ranking officer said they were to be shot out in space so they would have room for cargo in the ship. The planet they landed on was a wasteland but they were built to explore planets like this. There was only one problem they were shut off. They were taken and trained by Lizard people called the Zoro. The Mesa had no memory of were they came from so they worked for the Zoro. One day about 2 years later a group of humans attacked and the Mesa Were ready they fought off the humans saving the Zoro. one of the people there was the officer that shot them off! As he was about to die he said "We didn't make you for this!" All of the sudden, all the Mesa looked at him and walked to him and said "You.....YOU CREATED US!!!!!!" They killed him they had souls but not a real body so that's why they started their own Starbound program to begin on a science to make them human. horrible detail and I don't like it at all. Ok, maybe your going little bit somewhere, but you need add correct detail towards it.
(Bluh bluh, double posts bug me) I do want a robotic race, but this doesn't seem as well thought out as some of the other threads.
Ok here's the problem, it is a good idea, you have a good base, but there is not really a good back story. To make it better try this: Write bullets of what you want. Ask where they came from. Ask what they eat, drink, or live off. Ask if they have to be made in a factory if a player chooses to be them or if there was suddenly that many. Ask how long it has been since they started expanding, where have they gone (civilizations expand) Do they trade? Are they a full-fledged civilization or just a sad group of robots? Most races have some special aspect, what's special about this one? Is it going to be futuristic style robots only or, for instance clockwork style? *How can players change the robot so that each on is unique?* IMPORTANT
Well its says up there they came from the Starbound program They are robot THEY DON'T EAT they charge by sleeping (turning off) They were made by human (UP THERE) 62 year (UP THERE) to the Lizard Planet (UP THERE) well they don't have anything they work for lizard people They are determined to become human they are smart and their civilization grows faster(I'll add that) they have sort of like a humanoid body so i would have to say futuristic I am working on sprites now P.S.
