I think we get it. It's the slippery slope agenda, the same way detractors of gay marriage say: Sure, right now all you want to do is marry Man-Man and Woman-Woman, but whats next??? Soon people will demand to be allowed to marry a goat! or a '57 chevy! ITS A SLIPPERY SLOPE!

 

Considering I actually gave my opinion on why I don't want a sentient piece of shit in the game, I think I addressed the (fecal) matter of the OP's post well. Putting poop in a sci-fi game is a dumb move, even for ChuckleFish.

 

Maybe there's a side quest, where you must journey to the land of the laxatives, and ensure that the Grand Apex ruler has enough prune juice to be able to go #2 freely for the rest of his eternal life. The final boss of the planet is obviously a giant TP.

 

Go back and read your post. You realize how absurd the whole thing is? I think that was the point of the transsexual comment. Really, don't be so fast to assume someone is doing something out of prejudice. It doesn't actually help, it just makes it so that people can't do anything without factoring in people's sex/sexuality/race/etc. which sort of forces people to be sexist/racist/etc. in an attempt to not get labeled sexist/racist/etc.

Anyways, the silly things in this game I won't mind seeing in specific instances, but seeing them around will lower the quality of the game for me.

Maybe all of the playable races will be replaced by po? There's no way of knowing. One must just have faith in Chucklefish's vision, and believe that they intend to make a game that is neither too serious nor too silly to appeal to anyone.

Errr...that's your opinion of course. Some people will find it cute, I'm sure plenty of people do. Just like some people are into BDSM and hydro-torture. While those two things may not be your cup of tea, some people love it. And from the poll? It seems more people eithier don't mind it, or enjoy it then those who outright hate it.

I personally hate cats. Cats are jerks. Even cute ones. I certainly don't fly off the handle every time someone puts a cute cat in my entertainment media.

Same thing goes for sentient poo. I wouldn't play a game centered around sentient poo but if one crosses my path in Starbound I'll happily kill it and move on with my adventure.

A difference of six votes. This forum makes up a very small percentage of the people who actually bought the game. I'll give you a little project. Take a dump in the street. Print out a little smiley face an color some pink on 2 slips of paper. Stick the paper into the shit and carry it around your neighborhood asking people if they think it's cute. I guarantee not one person says yes.
