Well think of it this way, shit humor is the lowest, most lazy form of humor you can do. The slime creatures aren't meant to be funny, they're just a creature in the game. The Po is obviously meant to be funny, and it just isn't to most of us. THAT is why we have a problem with it, there is nothing illogical about it.

So because we don't lose our minds in hilarity over shit humor, we're brain washed by "da man"?

If you don't have the space to build a deck, you don't have the space to build a deck. If you're lacking the "inches" to build a deck, in other words, the space, then you are lacking something very important. This makes sense to EVERYONE, not just "sheeple". You aren't using that term correctly either. People that disagree with you aren't "sheeple".

 

I don't think it's funny at all either, i also don't care if it's in the game or not. That said, comedy is like taste, not everyone has the same. Who's to say someone doesn't find it hilarious? Good for them for getting some enjoyment out of their life. Who is anyone to take that away just because it doesn't fit their idea of the game that they're not even making?

Again, i never implied anything about the humour of it.

I could live in the wilderness and survive on the environment alone, i was trained to do that from a very young age. That said, i could quit my job and not work another day in my life and not lose my house, or my livlihood for the rest of my lifetime. I'm therefore a bad example of that train of thought. I don't work to live, unlike most people. You're taking this too much into specifics and particulars, it should be read for what it is, which is entirely philosophical.

Except i didn't say anything about the lack of space. Inches measure a physical distance, space is a thing, you can measure it and prove that it's there, it may or may not fluctuate depending on your ideas of physics, but it's there. What does the US dollar measure? There is no definitive answer, some people say it measures the value of gold, but what is actually so valuable about gold? How would you measure the value of a nearly useless pile of metal sitting in a fortress? You can't, unlike inches which measures a physical distance, dollars measure a 'value' which is another made up concept. Therefore if you can't definitively say it measure something, then it must measure nothing.

I clearly described why i used the term "sheeple" with my example of mass mind control, of course disagreeing with the established would be the opposite of sheeple, which i never once implied otherwise, and if you think i did, then you just didn't read my post as it was intended, which may have been my fault, sorry.

And I think this wins the debate. Isaac has loads of poo references, and it is anything but toilet humour, it is a deeply disturbing game.

 

I'm totally okay with the monster.
I can imagine it jumping around in a sewer, multiplying, stretching and squashing again, multiplying itself and so on.

I am one of the serious guys. I prefer this game to lean into hard sci-fi direction, within set borders (FTL, sentient beings made of plasma et cetera). I prefer gritty realism, because it is way more varied and fun than silliness and space magic. I like physics, biology and equations.

But I have no qualms with this monster as it is now — rare oddity in specific dungeon type. Whatever, may even be amusing.

Also, from reading several messages I understood that there are some problems in US of A when "children" clashes with "human waste". This is hilarious. Children do produce said waste in industrial quantities since day 1 of their lives, it is completely normal and natural process and result. Similar issue with female mammary glands, which most babies used as a source of sustenance for quite a while — again, completely natural, but pleasant to the eye in this case.

I don't care what's in the game as long as I can blow it up. The more unique things to blow up the better.

Firstly, it's not a debate. People are sharing their opinions because when you're teased with spoilers and the only concrete information you get for the day is about a bouncing shit, there's nothing to talk about besides the bouncing shit.

Secondly, Isaac is about an abused kid and is full of gross/weird/dark imagery - a pile of shit isn't out of place in Isaac, and you'll notice it doesn't have happy faces or attack the player.

Thirdly, I'll leave you with this image. Which group does the Po look like it belongs to?

 

I honestly don't mind monsters made of waste or that live in it. I think they fit rather well in a sci-fi scenario.

I do dislike the appearance of the Po species, though (lol). Starbound is in no way a serious game, obviously, and it's all right to have some humour here and there to lighten things up when needed; but I'm not a fan of this new addition. It feels almost out of place, to be honest, something belonging to an arcade game where background doesn't really matter.

Nevertheless, polls here in the forum have shown that the majority of voters is okay with the poopy monster. So, it's just one of those other things that some of us will have to live with. Gladly, it's no big deal.

 

The breast thing is symptomatic for the whole Western Civilization due to the small thing called "Christianity" (And to some extent Judaism because Christianity has roots in it)
As for the excrement thing... it's curious. I think a wider study should be conducted in order to determine the extent of bias against the depictions of it within the Western Pop-culture.

I think some people have realized that living poo might be sturdy enough to validate their nuking of an entire planet in intergalactic court or their dream of becoming a space plumber.

For me it all comes back to the fact that this is one monster among thousands. The chance to even find it and frequency with which you would find it will probably be low. Unless they replace every basic enemy in Starbound with a poo monster, it's likely to exist in only one location as a silly 'easter egg' of sorts.

Like it, don't like it... but I have a hard time believing it's worth calling the direction of the game into question over. It's ONE MODEL.
