Melee animations - Problems

I have a problem with the animations. When it comes to comparable quality they are just terrible. Two frames of stabbing a sword forward then pulling it backwards somehow slices? The two handed swings look better but when you have such smooth animations for movements and the dozens of different armor types then only put two nonsensical swing animations that have no logic behind how pulling a sword backwards chops it... Anyone feel the same? I was hoping to be a melee character in my group but right now it just feels sad...

I think the combat and animations are terrible for anything other than the 2-handed swords, hammers, and axes. The one-handed weapons and spears look really terrible and don't function well.

I agree 10000% And the way they just hold them to their sides looks really... derpy. At least add a slight wobble?

I always assumed the one-handed animation was a sideways slice, not a stab.

certainly isn't animated well enough to convey that.

I agree to a certain point. The animation quality is just ok, nothing amazing though. I am more concerned about the 'hit' area of most weapons. I feel as though 'poke' weapons are just outclassed in general to 'swing' weapons due to their coverage. I'd either up the damage on poke weapons, increase their range or give them a wider area.

Also no melee weapons appear to have a downthrust. Really annoying gotta admit. Usually high ground is considered a superior position, not a disadvantage.
