Race Meet the Monophytes

I don't know why but i am really intrigued by this race!

I instantly imagined one of them doing the dance scene from nepolion.

 

It's generally loose clothwear. Drapery is a common fad.

 

But how do they communicate?

 

'Magic'.

 

They seem pretty psychic. Maybe a more sciency answer than magic.

 

Perhaps they give off a sort of radio wave that they can understand?

 

While the Imperial Creed states that such creatures should not be allowed to exist. I personally approve of this idea. Now watch as I get shot for Heresy...

Lorewise [not gamewise] they communicate through eye contact through means humans wouldn't even begin to understand. As for communication to other species, they always have the 'magic' to do that, as mentioned here:

Gamewise, a typical Monophyte who would venture out into space would be equipped with 'magic' that converts eye gestures into any language with a comprehensive voice. The device is far from perfect, but it's meant to be perfect ingame.
And if you're RPing as a Monophyte on voice chat, if there ever is, the device's voice would be yours :U

Lastly, sorry for the inactivity on both Parfelians and Monophytes. I'm stuffed on both college and work. Perhaps next weekend I can get some stuff done.

Interesting to say the least. Nice work.

 

This is really neat, and definitely stands out to me personally. The lore you've written is really nice and I like the twists on the common being. The way they eat and the form of communication is a nice touch, but what makes them particularly unique is this 'magic' element, reminds me of the avians worshipping commitments but In a more ritualistic sense.

Love the way it's basically a fresh, new race which seems completely materialised from your thoughts.

Plus they look sick, another broad variant to the already existing races, nice work hope it gets implemented

So the gloves are a sort of psi-blade? Like energy is concentrated through a point giving you a sort of energy blade/weapon. Or is the purple stuff just like special effects
