As much as you guys insist that you're not being unreasonably picky, any person can take a look at any one of the suggested races and find a trillion things wrong with it. Probably because there has never existed in this physical realm of space and time creatures of our thought up imagination. Therefore it would be all too easy to pick out plot holes and scientific technicalities. In only a few ways is the science of Starbound on par with the sciences we deal with outside of a fantasy game world, so I expect only a hint of realism from what we can only see as an alternate reality and freedom of the imagination of things doing what we don't EXPECT them to do. So in short, I out of my personal opinion, think that a good percentage of these "scientific inaccuracies" can be overlooked because we are in fact not in a world that perceives our physical reality as law.
You guys are looking for realism where it does not and will not exist. To quote a friend I don't see this excessive nitpicking on any of the other race topics.

Those are bad examples. (Really? Bunny people? Well I guess thats what happens when most of the default races are anthromorphic earth animals. People can't be pushed to get a little different.) I should have said "I dont see this excessive nitpicking on any of the other quality race suggestions in which the creator has put effort into their construction"
Who's to say this is a Quality race? Who can say this is a "true" race, more so then any other race? Anyway they have put just as much, if not more information and work into their races then this one.
I believe Camera has put a lot of work into his race. I honestly doubt that the reason people don't like it is because "Its unrealistic". Its obvious that you don't read much science fiction because most of the stuff that goes on is pretty unreasonable and/or unrealistic. Is realism really the only thing that bothers you? What about the sentient plant life? Or the fact that an alien species made a magical device that reverses evolution but makes them smarter? How does that make sense? Im sorry but I don't think evolution works that way. Realism is an invalid argument.
A good question would be who is to say that it isn't either? Really we can only formulate opinions but can't apply them in this scenario as "fact" as we cannot formulate them as "false" either because there is a high amount of mixed opinions in this thread. Really in goes down to clashing and the eventual decision that is the mass which determines the final and decided truth. I've seen just as much work go into this as any other race. But hey, opinions are opinions I guess. In the meantime its a fight to the top. Whether or not a thread makes it is a mystery.
In reality though, this is just an example of an unfitting suggestion. It reeks of " ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL" from some teenage furry's deviantart page.
Tesla coils have seem to have a lot to do with this. No honestly, I'm just joking, but really these races are all similar in the amount of quality and lore into their races, but we rag on them because we don't want to make fun of them, nope, we want to improve and polish these races, but with negative reinforcement, since positive only seems to make them worse, anyway its obviously working, he has taken our posts with some cedability.

I didn't read all the 18 pages, but i like the drale! why is there so much discussion and hate on this race?
How is this relevant to the situation at hand? All of the race's problems were addressed on page 17 in the vocaroo links
