Well that was incredibly rude. Pretty sure they're called furries because they have fur. Plus, it's the people interested in animals with fur, not the actual animal itself, that's called a furry. Dragons don't have fur, so it wouldn't make sense to refer to them as a furry, much less as a "dragon furry".
Furries are a culture, and any anthromorphized character can be portrayed through the "furry" lens, especially if in a videogame. This level of anthromorphization is particularly furry (at least to the side of the culture that I am involved in), as it can be easily portrayed as furry. If you don't think that dragons can be furries, this -- apparently NSFW link (though if you're not insulted by the sight of naked, though rather non-detailed breasts, you'll be fine until the Velentine's Day edition.) should clear that up. If you need more convincing, then this link mixes both furred and non-furred characters. Especially in the side of the furry culture that i'm in, I would say that furred and non-furred furries are about equal in how common they are. Also, I never meant to be rude, because I know that furries aren't simply fetishistic objects, as I consider myself a furry.
Honestly, does it really matter whether or not a race is considered 'furry'? I've seen this argument prop up on a lot of other race-suggestion threads and it's starting to bug me. The Drale have a lot more going for them than simply being a 'dragon furry' race, which is more than can be said for a lot of the other generic wolf/cat/[insert anthropomorphic animal here] races that seem to be propping up everywhere. They've got interesting lore and would fit into the Starbound universe pretty well. The fact that they may or may not also appeal to the furry fandom shouldn't have anything to do with it.
I'll rephrase it then; the Drale are certainly not furries. Just to clear it up, I didn't respond to Pseudoboss because he mentioned furries, I responded because he said something that seemed totally out of line to Camera after Camera himself said his race were not furries.
