Drale - Bipedal dragon-like lizards who are capable of speech. They have the ability to fold in(collapse) their wings when needed (much like a hang glider/umbrella). They wear post-apocalyptic clothing. All Drale have a fang on each side of their maw. Males generally have thicker "eyebrows" than females. Scale color is determined in which underground region the Drale was born in. (Icy caverns had blue and white varieties, volcanic caverns had red, orange, and yellow, rocky caverns had green, brown and black. (With green being the most common) Purple comes from blue and red parents while pink comes from red and white. ) No matter what their scale colors may be, their underbellies remain a white-gray color.

    History

    Timeline

Birth of the Planet - The planet now known as Baathum along with the rest of the planets were created.

Primordial Life - Early signs of organisms appeared and eventually the Basklisks were present.

Emergence of Egotists - An era of which wood and stone were a primary resources for constructing and living. Pretty much the Stone Age all the way to Medieval Times.

Steel Society - Cities grew larger and science was highly regarded during this period. Everyone wanted to find out or create something new. Swift-Steel reflected on the fast-paced nature of this era.

Breakthroughs and Break-Ins - Many scientific achievements were made within the civilization most of which had to do with genetic manipulation. Of course, everyone was out to get the other's ideas resulting in an unstable civilization.

Genetic Disarray - Problems that arose from messing with genetics created a persisting disease. The civilization worked to the best of their ability to find a cure.

Cavern Lizards - Seeing as there were an abundance of Basklisks laying around, several scientists decided to experiment with them by manipulating their genetic structures, eventually creating the Cavusaurs. In their fooling around they have found a valuable gene that extended their lifespan and cured their disease.
Bronze Frontier - Space travel was made possible and the fruits of their research were known throughout the star system. They earned immense wealth with the making of their new alloy, Aero-Bronze, that improved protection against the heat of cosmic energy as well as increasing the use of steam power.

Stellar Nation - Traveling to the nearest planet, Tamati, the race had worked together with the inhabitants of the other planet in order to create a galactic colony. Soon, the rest of the planets in the star system were terraformed or/and colonized.

Living Large - By now, the race is spending less time on research and more time on recreation, their culture shifted to one more laid-back. With their vast amounts of wealth, they began building up on the aesthetics of their structures and the quality of their music and art.
Iron Might - Fearing that intergalactic enemies may eventually disturb their peace, the race developed another alloy called Neo-Iron. Using this new metal, they reinforced their cities and developed more on their military stockpiles.

Sky High - By now, the planet Baathum is pretty much covered with colossal, towering buildings that made the planet look gray but lit up like a blinking strobe light. The people spent grueling hours in their factories and offices, constantly making parts and programming A.I.s for their robotic army.

League of Legion - As millions of robotic soldiers were made and sent out through the system for protection, some people wondered if it was a good idea pouring all of their time into something so grim. Most of them preferred the last couple of ages.
End of the Beginning - In some way, shape, or form, a virus infected all of the cybernetic warriors and caused them to turn against their creators in an all out war. Some sought for cover in the abandoned, lower levels of their skyscrapers. Some of them may have even went under the earth.

Deus Ex Machina - During the heat of battle, a massive amount of destructive weapons were launched from the planet, desolating the planet and turning almost everything into dust. Just before the strike, it was said that the race attempted to escape from the planet's atmosphere.

Deserted Desert - The planet Baathum, now a smoldering wasteland, quickly lost a lot of its surface water after the buildings cover the ground were demolished.
Dead Space - Unfortunately, the virus earlier must have affected the robots on the other colonized planets, and they too suffered the same fate, if not worse. Tamati remained intact while every other planet but Baathum are now nothing more than space rock.

Dawn of Drale - After many, many centuries, what was previously the Cavusaurs eventually became the Drale through tedious evolution.

Cavern Communities - Living in a way much like the previous race did in their Stone Age, the Drale acted as a tribe and stayed that way for several generations.

Crystal Collaboration - The Drale fashioned their tools and made life simpler after harvesting and carving crystal that were found throughout the underground tunnels of Baathum.
Now We're Talking! - The Drale has now created a universal language for their race.

Symbolic Scripture - With their language, the Drale reassembled it into a written format
Path of Exile - Within their culture, the leader of the Drale Tribes began punishing those who have committed crime or are not worthy enough to the surface, a place they believed to be the end of them.

Curiosity Calls - Rumors of the exiled Drale spread underground, saying that they managed to survive upon whatever laid upon the surface.

Scrap Settlements - It wasn't long until more and more of the Drale began crawling out of their holes and began new lives within the abandoned buildings of the old race. It was here they began to adopt the race's way of living and culture, but also keeping their traditional scavenger-like personality.
Code Breaker - When they first arrived on the surface, the Drale stumbled upon the vast libraries of the previous race that were contained in vaults locked from the devastation of the planet. It is around this time that they managed to translate their documents and schematics into Dralic understanding.

Rocket Science - Using what they could find from the previous race as well as implementing crystal technology, the Drale were able to make low flying vehicles as well as rockets.

To Infinity and Beyond! - Shortly after their achievement, the Drale combined their knowledge of rockets and anti-gravity devices in order to create their first space-faring ships.

A planet ravaged and desolate orbits a dimming star. Its surface is covered with seas of sand, dunes constantly shifting under intense winds. It seemed as if nothing could've possibly thrived in an such an environment, though it wasn't always like this. Several thousand years ago there was a race that thrived with luxurious lives, but then a war broke out between organic beings and their mechanical creations. This conflict was abruptly put to an end through a nuclear devastation that threw tons and tons of soil into the atmosphere. The creatures starved and most of the machines began ceasing to function. Though once the dust had settled, the world continued to murmur.

Before the cataclysm, small lizards scurried across burrows underground, feasting upon even smaller critters. In this fairly simple ecosystem, A kind of crystal that can be found in this environment provides shelter for luminescent bacteria (Which could have reduced the amount of surrounding radiation by "consuming it". These micro-organisms share a symbiotic relationship with surrounding cave mushrooms which in turn are farmed by insects. The aforementioned lizards lived relatively undisturbed until major tremors began opening crevices to the surface. The radiation that leaked in accelerated the evolution process of these lizards (Possibly because the many microorganisms they consumed mutated rapidly, changing the body structure where they reside) and they slowly became what is now known as the Drale. Reluctant to explore the surface and preferring to live in their small paradise , The Drale spent most of their time underground, much like their predecessors. But their oasis began to run dry, unable to support the newly evolved dragon-like creatures. Eventually they had to head upwards.

Seeing sunlight for the first time, they were determined that there was much more promise than they expected. groups of Drale scavenged near their homes and continued to build their society. It wasn't long until they found the remnants of the past civilization, and the terrors it left behind. Rogue robots would occasionally attack the scavengers. Desperate individuals eventually learned more about them and they rebuilt some of the robots into useful appliances and ultimately a device that would supply much needed water to the surface, granting them a chance for sustained living on the surface. Their population never grew very big in the caves or on above them however, so they looked towards the dusty skies.
"There must be more to life than a constant struggle between machine and storms..."

For another few centuries, the Drale had finally accomplished the extraordinary feat of space travel after many sacrifices and mistakes. Most of it made possible by reusing technology found in unused missile shells as well as uncovering information preserved in the dusty vaults of the past civilization. (Which took several more decades to decipher.) Despite fixing important external problems, the Drale themselves would start to find out that they're following the footsteps of their predecessors...

    Biology
The first Drale ancestors were called Basklisks, and were pretty much regular looking lizards, documented in the earlier days of the past civilization. As they got bigger, they developed a sturdier posture that helped them stand up to previous predators. (These would now be called Cavusaurs) Their developed legs allowed them to chase down prey easier. Though they originally did not have wings, it's hypothesized that they may have come to be from genetic modification before the cataclysm, and the wings the Drale possess now developed from them. Their legs became less beefy as the speed they had is now achieved through angling their wings much like a plane. Other unnatural enhancements may have included their intelligence and increased resistance to radiation.

On the topic of wings, it could be that they would be used to reduce incoming radiation or to cool off in heated locations. Although the previous species are cold-blooded, it seems that the Drale are in fact warm-blooded.

Before developing tools, their unusually large talons were relied upon for cracking open the larger carapaces of insects that roam underground, since their maws became much too small! Despite obvious combat use, this also allows them to dig through dirt and soft stones with ease.
    Lifestyle

Prior to surfacing, the Drale functioned in small tribal communities, hunting the insects and gathering plants much like their ancestors. Though harvesting the agriculture is much easier, fights with the now giant bugs are left to the strong. They have the tendency to make the most out of what they have and take care not to waste anything.
    Below Ground
Originating just several meters below the sand, the Drale thrive in simple ecosystems with lives that consist of hunting and gathering. The Drale fashioned typical spears out of the crystals and stalagmites they snapped off, a big improvement from just using their claws. While the stronger of the species battled, the swifter ones forage for food, water, and materials. Through the many tunnels, one can expect to find underground jungles, tundras, volcanoes, lakes, and deserts. Surface sinkholes illuminated sections of the underground passageways, also acting as a gateway to the over world.

Though most Drale tend to stay near the rocky layer, some of them may dive deeper into the tunnels dug out by Centishears. Generally, certain areas may yield different kinds of resources. The Drale who decide to settle in those regions may begin to adapt to the environment through the change of scale color. (No effect on actual game play, basically it's just slight color variation over time through each generation.)

    Food

Besides consuming large insects such as Blinkbeetles and Gradihoppers, the Drale frequently roam around the natural passageways, usually following paths of glowing crystals. These crystals are made of a network of carbon that provides a home for micro-organisms called Lumoebas, which are the actual reason why they glow. This light that is produced is absorbed by underground plants like the Flickerfern and Graidigrass as well as fungi such as Bulbcaps and Lumolichen.
    Plants

Flickerfern: A common plant with pointy leaves. Its spores and veins glow with absorbed light and can be cut to obtain a sweet nectar.

Gradigrass: A grass that grows in small bushels along side Flickerfern. They can be used as sturdy, rope-like material when woven and provide a dim but soothing glow.

Bulbcaps: Mushrooms that are named after the way their tops are shaped. When plucked, this edible fungus remains lit above the stalk. They can be used as "torch" heads.

Lumolichen: A glowing fungus that comes in either a slime or a crusty disc-shaped variety. The slime can be used as a gluing agent while the other type of lumolichen can be used to make furniture such as tables and stools.
    Animals

Blinkbeetles: A large insect that has the disposition of a rhino. Although they are quite strong, they come with a rather unintelligent mind. Their flesh contains good protein.

Centishears: Long crawly things that dig tunnels using their mandibles. Their maws cut through rock much like shears cutting through hedges.

Geoweaver: Nasty bugs that hang on the ceilings of caves and spin crystal webs coated with tiny, sticky spines. Though they usually mind their own business, Drale that chase down Gradihoppers may find themselves snared in the webs of these arachnids. Their outer membrane may sometime be covered with nearby crystals.
Gradihopper: Long insects with powerful legs, they aren't as big as Blinkbeetles, but they are much more common. Their legs are considered a delicacy.
    Water
Though water is extremely limited on the planet, it's rather sufficient under it. Drale communities are always located near one or more major underground pools. The light from nearby flora provides a majestic view from the shores. Occasionally, a group of Blinkbeetles may take over the side opposite of a Drale village.

Although it may seem plentiful, the water sources have been diminishing every couple years. This is possibly do to it evaporating completely into the atmosphere or being used by Lusterium crystals. (The Lumoembas break it down into hydrogen and oxygen to thrive.)

    Crystals

The life of a Drale is supported by the minerals surrounding them, making their lives much easier. They can all be put to use, from decoration to application. (Tools, Weapons, Light Sources)

    [IMG][IMG]

Lusterium: The only other thing that makes life possible underground! (The others being food and water of course) Glowing with a cyan hue, these crystals grow in few different ways. From sharp shards, to thick clusters, and to intricate webs, these crystals are always a covered to Lumoebas, who consume tiny sections of the carbon framework in order to make these glow. Any Lumoebas that die off are absorbed into the carbon. Though these can grow just about anywhere, they gain accelerate growth near or in water. Mined Lusterium is called Lusterinite!

It is said that the radiation that may have been present is most likely buried between the sand and stone, most of which have decomposed and possibly diminished furthermore by Lumoebas.

Agatite: A peculiar crystal that tend to grow deeper than Lusterium. These rocks radiate a magnetic field that keeps most insects away from them. The Drale have found them to be useful for devices on the surface as well as keeping rogue robots at bay.

    [IMG][IMG]

Crimzon: Located at the deepest depths of the Drale caverns, these crystals seemed to be packed with potent energy. It takes only a small blow to cause them to detonate, sending shard shrapnel at dangerous velocities. Studies show that they're most common near lava sources, as they absorb some of the heat and uses it to grow. When doused with water, Crimzon turns into a reliable fuel source that burns slowly when struck. Doused Crimzon is more orange than the regular variety.

    Surface World
Above the tranquil Drale caverns is an entirely different world. Sandstorms bash away at the structures of a past civilization, leaving large husks of scrap metal. The blistering sun shines down from a cloudless sky, packing the full power of heat onto the desert. Every several miles, one may find towering skyscrapers that have been abandoned eons ago. Although these may provide shelter from the environment, they hold their own nasty surprises. Robots left from the time of their creators roam the streets, attacking anything that moves with heavy gunfire and worse. Even then, there are Drale brave enough to explore these ruins in hopes of acquiring some sort of treasure to take back.

There's not much the planet has to off on top, but to the Drale, metal was something completely new. And the surface was littered with it! At first, Drale who have been exiled were forced to live on the surface, and are most likely to die. After a while, many more Drale began to emerge from the comforts of their caverns to establish a crude society. With help from below, Drale scavengers made a living by trading interesting thing they find among the dunes. Surface dwellers also function as protectors against rogue robots that may wander into their rustic lives. Living a risky lifestyle had made them quite distrustful of others.

    Factions
Because of this separation from the underground society, Drales with different goals in mind started to round up those with similar interests, leading to a further dissociation among their kind. Pretty soon, the surface world has become more dangerous than it ever was with constant strife upon the sandy dunes, each faction trying to impose their beliefs upon the others.

Swift-Steel Legion - Freedom was on their minds when most Drale first started towards the surface voluntarily. Life was tough at first with frequent sandstorms and deadly robots on the horizons. Living on the surface was possible after words spread about how and where to find key buildings and locations to remodel for use. Being the first to adapt to the dangerous environment, they have a lot of pride and aren't very respectful to those who aren't like them in terms of ideals and morals. Most of the new surface settlements were run by the best and fastest members, since being hesitant is a frequent cause of death. The Legion, although physically fragmented, work together to take down anyone they consider weak.

Remnants of past Swift-Steel settlements included abandoned laboratories, where some Drale have figured out how to modify their tails, wings, and arms in order to readily adapt to environments on other planets.

Aero-Bronze Republic - Quality of life was incentive for other Drale to migrate above ground. The traditional way of life did not seem to satisfy those who thirst for wealth and knowledge. This faction consists of Drale who believe in living the high life by improving technology and economics. They pretty much dominate the surface world market with the best tools and services. This often leads to the other factions trying to obtain the Republic's hoard. The only thing that gives them a fair fight between the two other groups is the balance between speed and power in addition to lots of utility. Although more open to newcomers, this faction is always on the lookout for spies, as their trade secrets are their most valuable trait. Their communities reside right between the desert and major abandoned cities.

The buildings from the last Aero-Bronze era contains technology that inspired entertainment more than science or military, and the Drale have adapted their own musical culture based on what humans could call electroswing.

Neo-Iron Empire - Some Drale chieftains and leaders strongly disliked the idea of changing their traditional way of life, but the rest viewed the surface as a chance to expand their rule. Those whose bodies were built strong enough to withstand the perilous trials of the abandoned surface cities began to take back the area from the rogue robots, granting them access to the pre-inhabitant's most powerful weapons and armor. It wasn't long until the ruined cities were turned into a near impenetrable fortress composed of labyrinths that can confuse an outsider. Out of the three factions, the Neo-Iron Empire contributes to a majority of production, topping even the Aero-Bronze Republic in terms of dishing out new things. But then again, the new products are only slight upgrades to previous models since they are deemed to be "good enough." The Empire itself rules its people with strict guidelines, ensuring that they are stripped of emotional attachment in order to maximize the strength and endurance of its troops.

As mentioned, Neo-Iron buildings contained numerous weapons and vehicles. The only thing stopping the the faction from crushing its opposition is the lack of fuel and being the constant target of the rogue robots.

    The Pre-Inhabitants
Not much is known to the Drale regarding those who have lived on the surface before them, but by piecing together valuable information from what's left of their vaults, the Drale have came up with this:
"Thousands of years ago, the prosperous planet we know as Baathum was home to a race of egotistic people. They used up all of their resources on things they didn't need, making their buildings reach higher and higher. Soon after, most of them forgot there ever was a surface because their utopia existed on these skyscrapers. Life for them was good, and they traded and colonized on other planets throughout the system. A sister planet called Tamati had tight bonds with this planet. While preparing to defend against outsiders to the solar system, these people wanted and have created an army that would never sleep. Too proud to be careful, a malicious virus infected these robots on every one of their planets and caused a chain self-destruction of an atomic weapons cache as well as other high-explosives. Now, every planet besides the sibling planets are in pieces, floating chucks of space debris within a massive asteroid belt. Baathum became a nuclear wasteland while Tamati is trapped in a nuclear winter. This is proven by an observation regarding the brightest object in the night sky, an icy planet swirling with auroras. We hypothesize that there may be an enormous amount of liquid water beneath the floes of ash and ice."

    Rogue Robots
Dangerous automatons that wander upon the sun-baked sands of the surface world; they attack any organic creature they see with no mercy. The ones closer towards ruined metropolises tend to look darker and sleeker than the sentient, rusty tin cans shambling in the middle of nowhere.

The robots may have gotten inflicted with the virus back when an individual from the pre-inhabitants didn't like their prosperity, or perhaps the utopia was too good to really be one. Maybe a foreign trade group was jealous of their wealth and power and sought to destroy them by exploiting their military presence.

Nevertheless, the possess necessary materials to construct efficient space-age technology such as suits, ships, and weapons. Though the older models are easier to take down, the newer versions require extreme caution and a bit of something to disrupt their senses. (Primarily Agatite)

    Buildings

Swift-Steel Legion - Buildings are usually abandoned medical faculties and research labs. They are almost always left in favor of building scrap settlements because of the rogue robots that still patrol the halls. Deathtraps formed by rampant crimzon crystal growing makes trekking through these abandoned sites more dangerous as well. Things worth looting here are research notes, crafting recipes, and materials.

Aero-Bronze Republic - The structures are comprised of ordinary living quarters to derelict workshops filled with robotic horrors. The Drale make use of the technology salvaged from these areas to re-purpose them for their own benefits. Furniture can also be found around these parts and have been sold to make a profit after risking their lives battling machines.

Neo-Iron Empire - Remnants of skyscrapers and missile silos line up against the horizon where weapons, vehicles, and some other goods are produced. Desolated streets are crawling with hostile automatons waiting for their next victim to show up. Reclaimed city sites become hubs for factory work and businesses. Some say there's a lot of worthwhile treasure to be found within the towering buildings, but most would rather not take chances with the rogue robots.

Common surface housing. Made from scrap metal and ruins of the past civilization that lived on the planet.

A multi-purpose base. Includes greenery, garage, and communications tower.

A store and power station. Usually placed in the more windy regions. Energy gained is sufficient enough to power small appliances.

Previously an airport, it has been repaired and converted into a space port for functionality. It's thought that the area was abandoned long before the cataclysm if the previous civilization were already using ships.

A typical library vault that houses information stored by the previous civilization. It's rare to find one that contains history or stories, since they were not as securely built as the ones containing scientific documents and engineering endeavors.

Pieced together from plates of scrap metal, this water pump station transfers much needed water to the surface and stores it in a dome-shaped building. This prevents it from rapidly evaporating. Sand sinkholes are a pesky problem that results from water drainage.

A stone abode carved from surrounding stalagmite formations. They should usually be made near light sources.

Large cavern walls or underground hills can be turned into apartment housing or even storage complexes.

    Other Info

    Technological Advancement
The Drale possess post-modern technology, though most of it obsolete because of the many years of neglect. They appear to looks like junk, but can function just as efficient as if they were new. Some are armed with energy weapons used mostly to combat rogue robots but can be used for utility as well; everyone else wield handmade tools forged from scrap. They rely on parts from newer rogue robots in order to construct better ships and gear.

    Hostility
Drifting into the far reaches of space, the Drale are very wary of anything that may contact them. They have no fear of those who travel to their home planet (Most may just pass by) since it looks like a wasteland from a distance. Traders on the surface may act sketchy at first. (Being scavengers themselves, they're always suspicious) The average Drale are soft spoken and are friendly to anything sentient. (Seeing as there isn't much of that on their planet besides their own race)

    Historical/Defining/Notable moments/Weaknesses/Strengths (Scraped)

    The Good
    • Being skilled at conservation, ammo and materials may end up not being used during shooting and crafting
    • With their robotic ambassadors, the Drale will have little difficulty commingling with other sentient constructs
    • Living underground and in hard to see areas for long periods of time, the Drale have developed a keen sense of eyesight
    • Their intelligence is rather high. This can lead to deciphering certain things others could not
    • Their wings allow them to fall slower and jump a bit higher
    The Bad
    • They must venture from planet to planet if they hope to sustain their population (The robots require little to function however)
    • Food, water, and wood are scarce upon the planet (They consume more food and water resources)
    • They are unable to fly very far, so their wings are used mostly to propel jumps, slow falls, and glide
    • Their underbellies are prone to damage, so they must wear armor or take additional damage when hit there
    • Although the Drale can adapt to the cold, they have a terrible weakness to ice attacks
    • Their low charisma with other races may increase the cost of shop items

    Weapons & Armor

Ammo: Since traditional bullets are difficult to acquire for the Drale, they instead take bits of underground crystals instead. Lusterium proves to be great at stunning enemies with flashes of light, agatite is an excellent type to use against rogue robots, and Crimzon is well suited for use as explosive ammunition.

Boombox: A handgun modified to fire many bullets in a single shot. Its name holds true from what sound it makes and what it does to enemies.

Crimzon Crossbow: A crossbow used to attack targets from afar. crystal bolts are launched at high velocities using the elastic properties of strung gradigrass. Despite its name, Crimzon isn't the only crystal that can be fired from this weapon!

Luster Launcher: Made from a large tube, this weapon can fire a big chunk of crystal from a safe distance. The wielder watches in awe as their enemies explode. Out of combat, these things are often used for celebratory events by acting as fireworks!

Scrap Scattergun: A small shotgun that propels shrapnel in a large cone. A grinder in the ammunition box makes reloading a breeze and allows almost anything to be used as ammo. Warning: Ask yourself "Will it blend?" before stuffing an object into the Scrap Scattergun.

Shard Magnum: A revolver that shoots extremely fast razors. An excellent tool for pinning things down, though it can also be used as a grooming utility!

Velvet Vaulter: Carefully crafted from littered junk, these grenade launchers propel tubes of Crimzon in an arc which explode on hit. One should keep this away from their heater.

Lead Pipe: Durable and reliable, these pipes are almost as useful as a crowbar! Makes short work of robotic chassis and back itches.

Rotor Blade: Rarely wielded by the Drale, any downed helicopter from ages ago would have a chance of retaining a perfectly good blade. It's material makes it light, which allows swift swinging. Spinning around in circles proves to be an effective move with this weapon.

Scrap Shank: A makeshift dagger created from rigged steel plating. Always a handy tool to carry around.

Car Antenna: A weaponized car antenna that can sting organic opponents. Swinging will extend this weapon further. One can also set a fixed length.

Copper Carver: Made from foraged machine parts, this saw blade heats up the longer it's used. When heated up, it is able to easily cut through metal. Leaving it heated up too long however prevents it from being used while cooling down.

Doubletime: Slow down enemies by inflicting them with blunt-force trauma! Haven't had enough? Charge it up to gain increased attack speed with the weapon. Overtiming and Overclocking!

Spine Spar: Lethally fashioned from long Crimzon crystals, this sword is swift with attacks that can leave burning wounds.

Shatter Blade: A solid crystal sword held together with magnetism. With the press of a button, one can weaken the magnetic force and break off a chunk on strike, disabling robotic enemies and confusing other creatures.

Slaymore: Decently heavy, this glowing blade is known to stun many foes. Through its light or its force, it remains debatable to some.

South Star: Gruesome in looks and in battle, the South Star constantly sheds burning splinters that could easily embed themselves into enemy targets, racking up additional damage with each strike.

Discalibur: Exerting a rather unstable magnetic field, the Discalibur can fire waves of electromagnetism and absorb electrical attacks. It's known to be a bane of rogue-robots.

Crystal Caller: Using advanced crystallography and technological procedures, the Crystal Caller is a fine blade crafted from the brightest Lusterinite one could find. Although it is strong when swung, its true potential lies in it's ability to rapidly grow crystal spires when bits of it chip off.

Scrap Chopper: A poleaxe that forms a wavy pattern as it slices through objects.

Drill Lance: Perhaps it wont be the weapon that will pierce the heavens, but it will surely pierce through the toughest of armors.

Minute Maul: Lock enemies in time by hitting them so hard they'll go into a coma! But only for a while.

Crimzon Impaler: Simple but dangerous, the barbs near the end of this spear causes additional damage as it hits vital body parts.

Force Hammer: The face of this weapon can generate a powerful shock wave that can send enemies flying! It is also able to pull small objects towards the wielder.

Lumo Mace: Strikes from this weapon shed off shards that illuminate the battlefield. It has a very high chance to stun due to its ability to blind foes and inflict them with blunt force trauma.

Undertip: A demonic looking trident that's rather difficult to pull out, if you happen to be the target. It's shape enables it to fly farther when thrown.

Magne Mash: Using a large chunk of agatite and charging it with capacitors, this club is almost dangerous to wield as it is to machines. When contacting metal surfaces, blocks can be launched inflicting more damage.

Glitter Glaive: An ever-sparkling spear weapon that lights the surrounding area when swung. Combat in water increases its range and damage.

    Late Game
    [IMG]

Not as much as the Glitch!

Just one of the armors avilable

  9. Your sprites are very well done, but they could really use some flavor.
The armor and weapons are super-sterotypical, and their history and culture is kinda bland.
Try defining it more, and having it stand out.

I wonder if they will allow flight.

    They're rather basic, yes.

I tried to incorporate something medieval with something futuristic kind of like the Glitch, but the other way around. The theme I've observed is not really common for much of the other suggested races, but I agree that it is typical space gear. I'm thinking of adding some more "makeshift" weapons to go with the post-apocalyptic theme.

  12. Don't bother with medieval. A different dragon race is already doing that.

I really like this race, but I see a few errors if they are to be a playable race.

First: I'm fairly sure there will be NO magic in StarBound. I may be wrong on this however, so don't think to much on this. But some flames that do certain effects would probably be okay.

Second: This is a big one. All of your bads have to do with their home planet. If you want the Drale to be a playable race, they need to have actual weaknesses. For an example "Drale have trouble swimming due to their heavier weight, and tend to avoid swimming." Or stuff like that. It's not really a weakness to have sandstorms on your planet. :/

That's about it. I really like this race, and I hope they are playable. I just wanted to point out a few problems, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. You have made a great race. The sprites are amazing, so many options make customization epic. I hope you find my constructive criticism helpful!

Anyway, I like this idea. You did a nice job on the sprites!

Yeah, I'll probably change that up. I wasn't sure if there was going to be magic. And I got confused about the pros and cons from the descriptions, so I'll change that too.
