Just for the record, Jango Fett wasn't a human anyway, he was a Mandalorian.

Lol didn't want to enter specifics, in fear of been treated like a hopeless starwars fan... But jango is actually a "normal" human, hes just part of the mandalorian mercenaries (a multirace organization), he was taken under the mandalorian protection after his family was killed, by the mandalore in charge ( i dont remeber the name ) and he was a farmer before he was trained to be a killing machine... So yeah hes a human but the background history and his personality are the things that make him interesting not been a humanX3
Oh and for the clones they have an accelerated growth, having a 10 years period for a complete maturation, and other alterated aspcects, so they cannot be clasified as "normal" humans
Sorry again for the long post an off topic gossip

Ah, that's interesting. My mistake, I thought he was a native.

Oh, when was the name of the race canged?

Anyway, how is the race modding looking up? Any good news?

The name has always been Desulti. Roos was just a nickname for them, but I decided to stick to the official one in the lore.

And I don't really plan on looking into a mod until around the full release.

Note to self; update culture section to mention ritualistic arena-based, hand-to-hand combat.

I love how you've heavily based this on Australian culture in terms of politics & government, military and 'BBQing', the whole mateship and a lot of other aspects of Australian culture, and not just used the cliche representative of Australia...the Kangaroo.

    Just a couple of things,

...how come you have put the Navy in a position that the Air Force would take?
    leaving no sea/waterborne defense.

You might wanna show a sample picture of a past ANZAC/Australian soldier to show what you mean with the head piece.
The first time I saw the Army apparel I got confused as to what that 'thing' equipped on their head was, a helmet?
Now I realize it is the traditional hat aussie diggers used in the past, and are now used in ceremonies and tradition as such.

For the Navy, I had envisioned it as primarily a space-based one, but with craft (namely fighters and transports, and possibly larger ones like frigates) also capable of atmospheric operation. Thus, they would become the defacto Air Force since they can field ships both in and out of a planet's atmosphere, as well as transitioning between the two.

The lack of a maritime navy would come for similar reasons. Since the Navy has access to atmosphere-capable craft with similar armament to a maritime vessel, but with far greater maneuverability and operational range (i.e. over both land and water), an exclusively maritime navy would be somewhat redundant. Especially on colonized worlds with limited infrastructure, which would require such vessels to either be transported from off-world or assembled with whatever manufacturing facilities are available.

In retrospect, it is a little convoluted to have the armed forces set up like that. I'm thinking about having some branches of each, so maybe one of the Navy that specializes in exclusively atmosphere-based operations (and, historically, would represent the former Air Force before the two were combined) and maybe another for the Army about maritime operations. That, or rename the current Navy to the Aerospace Force, and have a separate Navy for maritime operations. Like I said, I'll have a think about it.

I'll also see if I can find find or link an image of a sample of a traditional digger's slouch hat. A quick look on Google Image looks promising, so I'll pick one out next time I update.

Thank you for clarifying that, I was just slightly puzzled as to what the Desulti Navy really are.

I like the idea of renaming what the current Desulti Navy is to 'Aerospace Force'.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance, I would be glad to help as I enjoy coming up with concepts and such.

Done a bit of work on the suggestion, so I might try posting update summaries and see how they go. This time around:

    • Added relations with specific races. Currently it's only the official races (including Novakid), but I'm considering doing some community-suggested ones as well.
    • Added new section about law and order.
    • Made an addition to biology, after learning a bit more about how pouches work.
    • Having an artist make a ship design for the race. The initial design is looking good, so I'll post the final version when it's available. Another artist is also working on some posters.

How's this looking everybody? Any suggestions or concerns from all the people who have been following this from day one?

Originally (as in the very first concept sketch) the AA gun was mounted on top, but I moved it right away to prevent things from being too tall.

Perhaps another smaller turret might work- thanks for the input.

Dunno, I'd rather put in something like water/fuel tanks there myself.

first thought from the first picture.... Starfox.. not gonna lie.

something maybe related to twin engines, but pointed in the front, relating it to the animalistic, "fur standing up" kinda thing.

In addition to the small gunner on the top (which I dont feel it completely done yet) I've done a ton of little detail work.

To anyone following it; Stranded has now been completed, and the remaining chapters posted. Go on over and have a read, if you're interested.
