Let me introduce one of my first colonies. All the scenery just vanilla.

    Star System: Propus Swarm
Planet Name: Propus Swarm II (terraformed oceanic lush planet)
    Colony: Mira Arada (City Fortress)

That's pretty impressive, I particularly like the touch with the sections of damaged thatch.

What I like most is where you aren't mixing various major eras of tech. The medieval aesthetic is great!.. Provided it is surrounded by similar aesthetic. Mixing in industrial age, sci-fi, and junk-tech with is just clashes too much for me. Perhaps something like that could work if it were an apparent renovation of ruins, but this blend doesn't really pull that off.

Still, you've shown off some nice work.

Thank you for your feedback. For the most part I agree with you too. Initially I was built in a medieval style combining only stone and wood. But later I realized it can't be in starbound universe. And I thought that these items, rusty boxes, metal beams, modern fittings, will necessarily be in the colony. This was the residence for many races. And they inevitably bring their own elements of life. In orbit of the planet the space base is located. There are mechs and guns... So the colony will inevitably have elements of the modern style. And I was curious to try to show it.

One of the rules of construction I took to use only the vanilla version. Therefore, there are limitations. In the game, just no ropes, ladders, switches in the form of a stone wall, wooden water tanks. Maybe they will come later in updates. But now I do from what is available.

You could take some wooden blocks and build a water tank

One question: how did you put all this water?

    Thank you.
I terraforming the oceanic planet to lush.

    Then I had to work.
The length of the colony ~3000 blocks, it was necessary to pour a large mountain of dirt from the bottom to the surface of the ocean)))

But now there is a planet with land, sea and a huge number of different biomes.
