Mech Suits SUCK

They need to be OP'ed. So much. They do literally 1 damage on level 40 planets.

 

something something balance patch incoming something beta? There, that about covers it.

 

They do one damage on things over level 5.

I'm guessing they're just testing to see if it actually functions. It might have some form of scaling based on weapons later.

Honestly...I really hope the devs are avoiding the forum, the amount of inane whining coming from so many random people is disgusting.

Its a beta...early beta, things aren't done, go do something else.

I agree! The devs let us play the beta so that we could tell them what does and doesn't work, and you think that gives you the right to tell them what does and doesn't work? How dare you do that thing you're supposed to be doing! You're disgusting!

...I have yet to see a real, actual, accurate response to his question (despite being repeated likely 30+ times).

From my guess, it is put in for a literal functionality test. if what I read was right, mechs were not really tested or played with properly, especially in the later builds (close to release) judging by the twitter responses and such on them. As well, to my understanding, they are far too easy to produce at current. That is likely in part, the starbound crew intend to make them build-able via the space station (main story related) crafting facilities for more advanced tech like mechs, and as such, right now, are in only for functionality until that point is reached where the rarity and cost of mechs is likely going to go WAY up alongside with being rebalanced for combat to make deadly, killing machines (which I hope to use on my 'friends' by dropping into their base... cough, hint, cough)

Of course, I could be totally wrong - but I say this from prior plans, tweets, and talks about tech and such over the last 2 years of starbounds development, so it's an educated guess.

Needless to say.

beta is beta, stuff dun work or isn't in yet, yada yada, blah blah. ;P

 

is it just me or are the mech's shooting sounds very very quiet/nonexistant?
