Mech Quest: Can't go up in the mechs?

    I'm trying to complete the mech quest but I can't seem to make the mech go up? How do I make it rise so I can complete the quest?

    Do you have your W key bound to jump instead of move up?

    I just bought the game and there were no instructions on how to use a mechanical. I'm constantly stuck on the ground and clueless on what to do with it.
