the MCV is a large mobile factory which is a crane, conveyor belt, and a furnace on wheels all together so that you can craft on the go, you can upgrade it to make it smaller, or to have a drill, or laser cannon or something like that, it has a button that makes it turn into a good sized building with a factory in it.
Seems a bit overpowered. A mobile furnace, or crafting station would be nice. But I think mining should be done mostly by the player. Having a conveyor belt is an interesting concept. I would love to build an impenetrable base from which I could send out, and receive resources.
Well you could just carry a crafting station around and place it whenever you need it, otherwise I don't see how there would be crafting stations in your base if they were some kind of object you can pick up and place. Also, that does seem really overpowered so I'm against it.
Late game vehicle maybe? Some sort of mobile base with 1-2 rooms you could use to place tools Movement would consume huge amount of fuel of course

Love the conveyor belt. Anything else is more like a mobile home, a bit overpowered if its not a spaceship.
Yes and should also include: Barracks,War Factory,Airfield,Armory,Refinery and Space command uplink. Barracks = Spawn npc's that will roam your facility and guard it from world creatures and other npc's. War Factory = Should produce mech and hover bikes also act as garage for you and your minion's. Airfield = Should be like helipad where you can craft flying vehicle's also place where space ship's from space station (Philadelphia) should dock and bring supply's in. Armory = Let's you grab weapon's and ammunition,also lets you customize your npc's that guard your base, like what sort of armor, weapons, when they invade will they pillage> loot> rape; rape> pillage> loot or pillage>rape> loot Possibility's are endless. essentially their behavior. Refinery= Refines ore and oil and gasses,Ore for crafting that is already in the game, oil should be used for fueling your beast machine, and for big ass flamethrower that is on "Mcv" to burn down non believer's,Gas should be used for cooking,Since food has big part in starbound. and for weapon's, there is nothing more satisfactory then gas bomb's(which will be fired from HUGE cannon from refinery, while it plays rock music). Space Command = Will be used as a base of operation's on mcv, where you order supply's, vehicle's, equipment, map exploration,should also give you clue on map where are specific ore's and other valuable material's.Also should be used in case of planetary invasion as forward base. where you order artillery strike's where dropships's should land and reinforce specific unit's, where orbital cannon should fire.Should provide tactical information to foot soldiers, like taking prisoner's. And how do you wish to terraform planet and what color will it be.
While I really doubt you'll get a "house in a box" like C&C building style I wouldn't mind seeing a more literal crafting vehicle. Something like a utility truck/vehicle that has most crafting stations on board so you can touch down on a planet and not have to rebuild all your equipment. Still its usefulness is questionable since, like has been mentioned, you can just throw down any crafting station you want from your inventory. Maybe something like these...
