Mating?

Voyager, look at harvest moon, you marry a women, if your a boy, or a man, if your a girl, but it goes in the future and you have a child, let's just say, it will black out, for like 5 seconds (if it were to be in the game) and suddenly a baby appears :l

 

I just don't want it to be like minecraft. I want some serious business in this game...

 

Well, it should be more like a long-term relationship you'd have with NPC .

 

I think "breeding" might be more appropriate. But I would love to see what kind of monster comes out of Avian-Ape breeding.

I wouldn't mind having players forming relationships with NPCs. And even 2 NPCs coming together living in a house/apartment that you build for them and having kids off screen.

I mean...where else are your disposable red shirts that you take on expeditions going to come from?

Jokes aside, it would be cool to truck a bunch of colonists to a beautiful planet you found for colonization.

I think we might be keeping up with two completely different games.

 

Well in conjunction to this concept, I'm hoping that all monsters will have different stages of growth. What gave me this idea was Monster Hunter, and the Poptop thread, how there are smaller monsters, and then they get very large in their age.

And that somewhat goes along with the mating idea, how you would have two monsters at a certain period of life, and they could give birth to a monster of a baby version of their varied species.

 

I am a Dragon.
A Dragon can mate with any living thing (male or female) other than plant.
We make babbies like bunnys. So THIS...might be a bad idea

 

And what if the reproduction cycle goes differently between creatures?
Like a squirrel and a rabbit make it look exotic and weird and if To species wants to mate they should do it in a place were perverted players can't see....

I do not mind the idea of NPC, Mobs, and the player being able to have kids. I think it would be very good in fact when it comes to the station and colony to see children running around. May be some NPC yell at them through a Text Bubble "Hey you kids, no playing in the Genetic Ooze!!!" For cases in the wild...it brings up allot of questions and moral issues. So it probably would not be good to have younglings running around unless may be as a better way to tame an animal.

YES! Definitely gonna be mating! I gonna be the newly confirmed lesbian pornstar race which specialise in skin armor and giant 2h dil*o swords. Can't wait to run around and doing, you know... pornstar stuff=D

On the serious side: I hope it's only mating in an innocent or natural form. And it has to have some reason to be in the game, like breeding new pet's or something.

I would have to say that such a breeding process won't work because if you know even a little about genetics, you would probably know that species and chromosomes have to match in order for reproduction, but that is up to the devs if any sort of breeding process (if any) that is made in-game follows such rules. Oh, and sorry for going all smart**s on all of the people that read this...
