Massive storage problems.

So is it just me being a loot-whore and being really tied down by storage space or is it anybody else?

im currently in the process of converting all my items and decorative pieces into the 3D printer, but its taking a long time as some item can cost upto 625 pixels that i've currently seen.

my ship is just cluttered with unsorted storage boxes, like literally the whole top row of my ship is just full of lockers (smallest stackable storage chests) and its making it look like a mess,
it doesn't help that i'm scared to shift click items ito chests incase i lose them for good making stacking items really a pain.

honestly i think it would be better if you had more than 16 slots per chest, doesn't make sense a locker,large chest, and a massive cabinet have the same storage space :/

:side note: i'm gunna be so deflated after all of my 3D printer stuff is wiped :/ i have MANY items from all races stored away .
anybody know of the file it is saved to so i can do a backup and hopefully re-attach it?

TLDR: need more space, 16 slots is not alot

EDIT: also forgot the shear amount of block variation, my stacks of slightly different colored dirt is getting high.

Adding more storage is just a patch. They will fill up in no time too. Then you will be hollowing out planets to become massive warehouses for all your stuff. It's the mentality of a game like this. You have to hoard everything less you never find that cool thing again.

 

hope we get mannequins to collect armour

 

I believe they fixed the shift clicking into full chests

edit: as for storage, i usually keep tons and tons of lockers/chests whatever on the other planet that is not my home planet, doesn't have to be pretty, since i only go to that world to deposit things, and since it only costs 1 fuel to travel between, its a good alternative

 

I haven't really run into storage issues yet. Though I am not storing everything on my ship. I store essentials and specialty items that I want to keep with me from planet to planet, but I have several bases if you will set up on a few planets where i store a lot of things as well. It isnt instant access but its not really a cargo ship either lol.

 

yeah i mean ive got my home planet with storage there, but when i'm in my ship exploring and getting literally every piece of decorative items, its very expensive to keep hopping back and forward from your home to another planet,
i dont want to farm 400 pieces of wood on every planet just to deposit items if i can help it,

also the 3D printer is on my ship, moving the stuff away from there makes it all the more likely i will loose all my pixels before i can convert anything.

 

Considering there is a wipe coming in the next day or 2 I wouldn't focus on looting and saving all of you gear. Especially during Stage 1.

Also collecting 400 wood is pretty darn quick.

 

They fixed the "Over shift clicking" bug, so now you cant accidentally delete items, they simply dont move if the chest is full and use a planet, get a large solar system, full of planets, and set one as your home, and a near by planet as your storage Or store things on one planet with your base, since, ya know, PLANETS ARE HUGE AS F*** lol

 

Having to dump each stack tile by tile is a bit annoying. Is there any hotkey to trash a highlighted item?

 

there is a 'delete box' in your inventory screen to burn unwanted items, its to the right next to your tech slots.
