    Hi,
i'm currently running a Starbound server on Ubuntu 13.10 64bit, i'm playing with a friend.
I started building our base on a planet, i passed the coordinates to my friend but he does not land on my planet,he lands on another planet.
    Is this behaviour normal?
Shouldn't the server have the same coordinates for all players for each planet stored?

Did you say the planets, and the Sectors?
The starter Sector is the Alpha. If not working, invite him to a party clicking the plus under your head on the top right corner. Hope this works! ;) If not, I don't know what to tell you.
You would also make him TP to your ship or TP to his.

Coordinates will only get you to the solar system, unless you are giving full coordinates
    For example:

    X: -33355121
    y: 2315325
Would get you to the solar system, but you still have to find out what planet, in which case you give them the name. Planets are classified with I-X in roman numerals, and the moons use the alphabet. The fourth planet's third moon would look something like this: [Solar system name] IV c <--Name of planet

But I'm sure you already knew this, and this isn't the problem, but just as a precaution you know? Anyway, I've come across a similar issue on a server I play on, where the coordinates did not center the solar system on the universe map. As it would turn out the coordinates were not wrong, but if you look at the nearby solar systems, you will eventually find the correct one. Also, it's as pop says, planet coordinates must be in the same sector.

What I find that is strange though is that your friend is claiming to find the planet at all. If you give him coordinates, sector, and full planet name he should have no trouble

I've tested again, we are in the same sector(Alpha)...looking at the server terminal i discovered that loaded coordinates when my friend lands on the planet are perfectly different from the coordinates that i gave...
    What could the problem be?

Are you on the same planet, again? If you are on for example: Alpha Se Rem Dec II, the friend needs to be there, or you or the friend has a species mod on him, it's easy. Or he just clicked random coordinates, tell him to click GO instead of random coordinates, it's an easy fix. If it doesn't work, tell him the modded species you're in, or message me for assistance, I'll join the server and fix the problem, just give me the ID for the server, and I'll help you, let the friend join the server, too.

I forgot, are you on the biome he's in? If you're on Arid, he should go there too. It's normal, you're just on the wrong biome.
