Malukah's songs? In Starbound? For real?

What makes you say that? I don't think "retro" art calls for retro audio or anything. There's a lot of orchestrated music and we know there will be voice acting, so why not lyrics?

 

I think vocals will go quite nicely, maybe some oo's and aahhh's

I highly doubt that a full blown Celine Dion cover of 'my heart will go on' will play over the credits or anything haha

Wow I did not know who she was, but I clicked on the link and heard her Dragonborn song, and I was sold. She is so good and amazing, I look forward to what she is creating for Starbound.

 

Skyrim had vocal tracks, she improved them.
They were embarrassing to begin with, she made them a lot easier to endure.
(Although I still use a mod to disable everything but the bard instrumentals.)

As for Starbound?
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

As long as we don't get any of that horrible girly voice anime shit then I'm good. Maybe a song by Malukah without lyrics but just "oohs" and "ahs" would be very fitting and great.

Honestly, i don't like the idea. She has a good voice, she makes good musik, ... But i don't like the idea of ANY vocals, not even the mentioned 'ooh' or 'aah'. Additional, i think the songs are... Well it's the sort of songs in the cathegory 'nice to hear once, after that it becomes annoying'. At least to me. I know many people like her, and i have no problem of an npc of her, but PLEASE make an option to make her remain quiet.

She could make some good Floran/Novakid music with that guitar.
... And if you add vocals, make it more of that "ominous" thing like when you just go "Aaaaa" or "Eeee" and "Iiii" and "Ooo" or "Uuu", you know the "eerie" tones.

Mmm, not the best example. I have an sounds app on my phone called Lightning Bug, it has a chant called Druid Chant and it sounds really cool. Very low voice, long droning sounds.

Wow I have never played any Mass Effect games, but yeah that was very moving.

 

I love Suikoden II. Easily one of the best games evaaar.
It has a vocal track in it as well, I think it's called Two Rivers?
I know it is in really terrible Italian, but the instrumental version is very pretty.

She's a girl that likes video games. That's mostly enough for the general populace of male nerdlings, lol.

 

Not even too sure about that. Seems like she has no range at all.

 

Believe me do it, the story is so moving and exciting until the last second you play it, worth every cent even it's part of EA Games now (ME3 was actually done with EA as developer)
