Malukah's songs? In Starbound? For real?

No vocals! If it's just a faint drone (like common halo 1 themes), it may work. However, if there is a celtic woman or a sinea o'connor esque track in there, I'll have to dig into the game files and delete that garbage. It's just not sci-fi enough for this spacey game.

Granted, I havent listened to her stuff yet. But someone posted a picture if her and an acoustic guitar. Instantly, I couldnt be more pissed about a soundtrack. But I'll still
check her out and reconsider my opinion about vocals.

Oh wow, never heard of her before, but I'm starting to fall in love with her music. Glad for the bump of this thread.

 

That'd be pretty cool. o=o Despite a lot of people not wanting songs with vocals. It's kinda... Weird if the game DIDN'T have any. I mean every culture no matter what has music and singing in some form. And there's 7 different species with 7 very different cultures. I mean even if there were maybe one or two song with vocals, that you could find bard NPCs in some villages that would sing and play their songs, it would add too the game. Yes this is a sci-fi game, but that doesn't mean it can't have vocals. What, did everyone lose their sense of creativity in the future or something?

Yes her voice is very folkish or fantasy-esque. But I mean if spun right it could sound sci-fi-ish. Look at Diva Laguna off of The Fifth Element, she was singing opera and they made it Sci-Fi.

I liked her singing a song from Skyrim, but I don't really give a flying feather about the performers as long as the soundtracks themselves are tolerable. Even the best ones can fail miserably.

 

I listened to some of her songs, and I have to say potato. Actually, nah...I really like her voice, can't wait to hear what she's got for SB.

 

I think this would be a great addition can't wait to hear her!

I.... dont play Skyrim but that was beautiful! ;w; Absolutely beautiful. Then I touched some of her other songs. Tiy, you made the right decision in asking her to make a song for you.

I have to agree with this, it would just feel so out of place and foreign, i really dont know what she could sing about other than space exploration, and i really dont think her music style would suit Starbound. Don't get me wrong i like here stuff, but i agree that it would be a 'cheesefest'.
