Make the random generated weapons better than crafted ones.

Right now there's no point to even check whether the weapon is better than what I'm currently using if I crafted my current weapon. It's not. It's never better.

What's the point of random generation if I can be sure to have the absolute best weapon by cheap crafting?

Make the weapons found be at least on par with crafted ones.

Totally not true one of the first weapons I found was an axe that is better than the crafted one. It had 9 dps. 1.82 swing speed. 5 damage per swing and does 3 poison damage. Yeah it doesn't do as much damage per swing as the crafted axe, but it deals poison damage so technically it actually deal 8 damage every other swing.

They are still working on the balance. I think if you find a legendary in the alpha system now it is better than it's crafted counterpart in the alpha system.

yea I'm finding weapons that are way better than my crafted counterparts in the alpha sector. Not all of them mind. some are rubbish, but most with elemental effects are better. I'm running around with a hammer that burns things to a crisp. Highly satisfying.

I've yet to find a 'useful' weapon. But I'm not well explored yet. I just wish I could do something with them other than trash them :(

I have yet to find any useful weapons either. All of mine have been trash.

All of the weapons I find go into the trashbin. :/

I think the system of bonus effects is a good one - the weapons that you find should have less direct DPS than your crafted weapons, but have a variety of bonus effects that will make them a lot more useful in specific situations.

But the bonus effects should not just be constant - for example, poison deals 3 damage per 'hit' all the time at the moment, but that effect would become useless on later weapons. It should instead have something like:

    Bonus Effects:
3 Poison Damage for 10 seconds

Which leaves it open for later weapons to have things like 50 Poison Damage for 20 seconds, or 100 Poison Damage for 5 seconds, etc. And also to have multiple effects for each weapon.

Also, the DPS and magnitude of the bonus effects should be dependent on the level of the creature that drops them, and the chance of a weapon having one or multiple bonus effects should be somewhat dependent on the type of creature (if it's a normal mob/soldier then low; if it's a miniboss or one of the hardest soldiers in a dungeon then moderate; if it's a sector boss then very high).

The chance of a weapon drop from a normal mob being better than a crafted weapon... I guess normal mob's weapons should be usually about as good as the easiest weapon to craft in that sector. Rare mobs or minibosses should be likely - but not guaranteed - to drop a weapon that is almost as good as the best craftable weapon in that sector, and Sector Bosses should have a chance to drop a weapon that far outdoes the best craftable weapon.

But, lastly, there should be a weapon in at least one of the sectors that is not craftable with conventional materials, and requires you to search several planets for the ores, or to find and kill several minibosses to find loot from which you can craft the best weapon, and this weapon should be guaranteed to outdo even the weapon that the sector boss drops.

It's actually fixed, the weapons I find now are usually better than the crafted ones. Usually.

Yeah, now I just wish that they would give a decent chance to get a gun, especially on gun wielding enemies.
