Why shouldn't some blocks be magnetic? I could see a certain type of Ore be magnetic, so that any metal items or cash that dropped near them was instantly drawn towards them. Wouldn't that just be handy? Items could even stick to the sides, so that you couldn't accidentally drop them down a pit, they would just stick to the side! Also, this adds the possibility of certain mobs being rendered immobile, such as Robotic mobs! Wouldn't it be handy to be able to have magnetic blocks? Feedback, please!
I see a problem with this, if you were going for realistic and wearing heavy metal armor (for some weird reason) you would get stuck straight onto the blocks and you would have to take your armor off and then be freeeeeeeee.
no he means that if you take off a magnet and put it in your pocket, it still works and you would still be stuck. wasn't there a thread about this somewhere else, but better thought through?
It would be hard to gather this ore because with basic non-metal pickaxes like stone you won't pick it because they are too weak. With metal ones you won't too gather it because it will stuck straight on the ore, and you will need to drop Any Metal items you have to go out. Only way to gather that ore is to have very good non-metal pickaxe that you will need long time to gain it.
Genius! Pure Genius! If that was what he meant, it certainly wasn't the way that he'd worded it. He made it sound as if someone wearing heavy armor made of metal walked across the blocks, they would be stuck. If you have the ore in your pocket, it doesn't do anything magneticwise, the same way that, in Terraria, meteorite or heckstone damage you when you walk on them, but not if you have them in your pocket.
Yus, video game pockets, the only time you could possibly be wearing no clothes and use your ears to stash heavy armor
