There's a mod for minecraft that's similar to that idea, dimensional doors or something like that. you didn't create them yourself and they were randomly spawned but they took you to all sorts of crazy places. Being able to make your own as a way of teleporting sounds awesome. you should make a post for this, I'll back it 100%.
What. For one, Reddit is a completely unrelated thing. For two, Chucklefish was never a part of the Terraria development team. Tiy was. Then Tiy left.
Don't really have an opinion to pitch here, but i just wanted you to know that your temporary solution to digging your way back up is to just re-log and you'll be back on your ship.
Are you guys not aware that you can just save & exit and load back into the game? It only takes 15 seconds, and BAM back at your ship. I'm sure at some point they'll develop something, but that's definitely a legitimate workaround until they get something in the game.
Why are you still on about copyright stuff, nobody is asking to take the item directly from the other game, just make a comparable item in THIS game. That's like saying that 90% of the stuff in Starbound that is exactly the same as Terraria is copyright infringement when all people want is an item that functions the same, regardless of what it's called and definitely not taken directly from another game. And yea, log out and log back in There is a mod out there, (forget the name) that lets you teleport between 2 places on a planet (don't know if it works underground or not though).
:l unless its iconic and copy written any one can use anything some arguments here are as valid as saying hey we can us blocks sword or guns because terreria or minecarfat..... This item should be added to the game its a good mechanic to have but make its space not magic related....
You had no clue what happen to reddit and chuckle did you? reddit isn't going lend mirror that easy. even thou its a trade, its going be an issue. under word was with them. reddit isn't going let it off freely chose. Trading part of the game is going be hard you think. Pretty much you hadn't seen their conversation yet when tiy talking reddit that he is plain to leave. Did I really ease drop them? Nope, got private message 5 ppl said same thing. Issue between boundary.

There are NO boundaries to be had WHATSOEVER. Magic Mirror doesn't belong to Terraria and Reddit has no affiliation with anything that site is just for drama, they don't have much of a say in anything. Stop bringing up things that happened in the past on reddit when it could have happened anywhere, I don't know if you're trolling or just really stupid.
The second option may be the most applicable You'll see I've already tried to explain it to him before in great detail, but he's acting like he's part of chucklefish's business.
I would love to see some mechanic or item like the ones mentioned, its probably already on the developers mind though . Support .

I think from a game balance perspective it'd make more sense to have a tech that allows you to exchange pixels for instantaneous travel back to your ship no matter what depth you're at. (Still free for surface transport.)
Or, instead of using pixels maybe (for an example) you can make a crystallizing machine that turns ore of a certain quality or higher into a pure substance that can be used to increase the strength of the teleporter that you use to work below grounds, the deeper you are the more substance/matter you would need. Make it mildly hard to get though not just filler stuff.
