I am on Mavericks. Had not had ANY problems with crashing until I added a bunch of mods and started playing multiplayer. Now it has been crashing quite a lot right when I start up. Not really sure if that is relevant to this but I thought I'd put it out there. But it worked beautifully on Mavericks until mods+multiplayer. Idk man.

Read the minimum specs on the Steam Store page - the minimum OS X version supported is 10.8
See this page for details - http://playstarbound.com/support/

Until you upgrade you will not be able to run Starbound on your Mac.

There are two versions of Mac that the game will run on. 10.8 (Mountain Lion), and 10.9 (Mavericks). Every other version will not work at all.

Game issues don't belong in General Discussion. Moved to In-Game & Billing Support.

I'm having the same issue, running Mavericks. Base game, no mods, gets to the loading screen than crashes. Any ideas? Any information that would help solve this?

Do you have the Steam Overlay enabled? That can cause issues, try disabling it if so.
