Low performance after patch.

    Devin89 Yeah, You!

I'm really glad for the gameplay changes the new patch made, but the game is running much worse for me now.
It was alright before, with some occasional slowdown, but now it's just barely playable.
OpenGL doesn't seem to help either.

It's the same for me. It only tends to be around lifeforms though, for me. It's seamless and quick for me, but as soon as a few aliens spawn, the game starts crawling. It happened to me before this patch too. It was so bad, I couldn't play.

You guys might want to post your OS. I'm on Mac 10.9 and performance seems the same as before (just fine).

putting a screen resolution the same as my screen resolution and increasing the zoom to 3 worked for me.

Windows 7 64 bit is my OS, 24 gigs of ram, ATI Radeon 6750. I've tried everything in other threads that I've read. (Forcing vsync off, removing steam from my registry in some area, using open GL mode, making sure everything is running in administrator.) I have a monster machine, so I'm not very clear as to why the game would lag. My friends, with quite poor machines, seem to play it with no problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My native resolution is 1920x1080, and that is what the game is running at. The zoom is at 3 too. There are times that it runs perfectly fine, it's when there are aliens nearby that it slows to a crawl. I notice it slow down as I'm mining, the mining sound starts playing more slowly, and I'll zoom out and notice monsters nearby, and go and kill it, and it'll return to nice and smooth gameplay.

Yeah, it happens mostly if there's an enemy nearby, or if it's raining.

    Rain sucks.

Game runs fine on my rather ancient laptop, even with other life around, but when it's raining? It just kills the framerate.

Although it does make it somewhat easier to dodge bullets.

I am noticing a lot more stuttering than before on windows 7, gtx 660, 6gb ram, 3.2 ghz processor.

I've had low fps when playing on multiplayer to where my character wouldn't be able to keep up to others running around before recent patch, but it was okay after a while. After patch playing for a bit and it starts slowing down more and more and you can easily see it when mining something it takes forever and a moment ago it lagged me out of a MP realm entirely. I switched to SP to see if the server is having issues or the game and it kept lagging. When I re-tried MP it took a good 30-40secons to load interior of the ship and my character was frozen midjump in it. Then it loaded. Pretty weird like.

After restarting the game, lag is gone...for now.
